Ok, I am really confused...is this just for other coin developers? Oh am I just creating this dummy post as a publicity stunt...because I thought that PiNX was a real project...was it just for this and is not a real coin?? Please explain a little more...

ah I get it. So when we support PINX with our raspberry hardware, we support NXT clones, and  will get some KLONE for it... Great idea

I believe your understanding may be flawed.

You earn stake in KLONE by creating a NXT clone.  So, I have secured a stake in KLONE by creating PiNX.

If YOU want a stake in KLONE, go make yourself a next clone following the instructions in original post on Page 1.

Hence, proof-of-clone while keeping the spirit of collaboration amongst the clones.  Genius.  So is using the Raspberry Pi idea for PiNX to qualify to be on the genesis block.  Ordered my rasp pi for the launch.

PiNX is correct! Recent events have shown us that POS coins needs to 'ethically secure' their genesis block distribution. By that I mean it needs to be seen as 'fair' by the community - both now, AND, in the future.

FrictionlessCoin is in the process of making a NXT clone (NEX) because he thinks the genesis block distribution from the original NXT was unfair. No doubt someone will come along after NEX is up and running and they'll make the same criticism of NEX - 'Hey I missed out, It wasn't fair how you distributed the genesis block".

Frictionless is distributing NEX without clear, well thought out procedures, and by giving them away for an "interested" posted in his thread, his genesis block is way more open to criticism than BCNext & NXT.

Frictionless also doesn't seem to be aware that by giving his genesis block away for free to people who are basically showing no deep committment to NEX, he will end up with a massive drop-out rate (i.e. people who don't actually claim their coins once the genesisi block is released). NXT used a bitcoin buy-in to distribute NXT, and had 1% drop-out. What drop out rate will NEX have? I'd say 30-50% of people assigned NEX won't bother to come back and claim them. That will be a big problem for NEX.

Then there's the obvious, how many of the NEX genesis block stakeholders will 'care' enough about NEX to actually build the infrastructure and run the NEX software. Free feels great sometimes, but it doesn't build reciprocal commitment. NEX wont have a willing army of talented people like NXT. NEX will have very little value if any, so paying people NEX bounties won't work.

There is no clear cut universal definition of 'fair', so a POS coin MUST 'ethically secure' its genesis block distribution, otherwise you will be hit with a metric ton of shit and bile from those who came late to your party and think they've missed out on lots of free money. The criticism will come, and you need a logical response that shows you were systematic, and you followed a well thought out plan, rather than just making things up as you went along.

BCNext has created something beautiful with NXT, but he didn't 'ethically secure' the NXT genesis block distribution from criticism, hence the arrival of pissed off people like FrictionlessCoin who obviously missed out.

KLONE is an attempt to come up with a systematic and defensible way to ward of criticism over the genesis block distribution. Simply put, to be part of the genesis block of KLONE you need to have exerted a little bit of effort that shows you will

1- probably come back and claim your coins
2- you'll follow the KLONE thread and help out if you can

The little bit of effort required to follow the KLONE instructions will separate the wheat from the chaff, and you'll end up with some coins in the KLONE genesis block, AND you'll have started your own NXT clone. If you don't follow through on your clone, don't worry. If you follow the KLONE instructions and post your announcement you will have met the KLONE conditions.

PiNX has an ethically secured genesis block from 'proof-of-pi'
KLONE has an ethically secured genesis block from 'proof-of-clone'
NXT used a bitcoin buy-in IPO

NEX has no clear idea of how to distribute the genesis block, other than some vague "it's free so it's fair". NEX genesis block distribution is very insecure ethically, and so it will probably fail miserably.

Good luck!

This is brilliant. The innovation that this will bring to the NXT world is priceless. Well done Klone.
I am promoting this thread and will get to work on a worthy Klone.

Awesome, ME.TOO is at no.4. This is so cool! lol

Proof-of-clone is an interesting idea, but man, you're gonna end up with a pretty small number of genesis block accounts. Sorry, I can't see you getting KLONE working as a viable coin unless you get a LOT more guys cloning. Do you have a plan B? BCNext had 73 and that's honestly the bare minimum.

Still, a clone made up of cloners made me piss my pants laughing - thanks!

KLONE will get more cloners MadCow!! When playing chess, how many pawns are the equal of your Queen?

Each member of the KLONE family is a cloning queen - powerful & committed, so a KLONE genesis block account holder is worth many pages of 'interested' posts on NEX & NEM & ME.TOO.

That's not a criticism, but I think it is true. Everyone on the KLONE list will participate in KLONE if it looks viable. I am assembling the 'Fantastic 4', but I have 10 members now, instead of 4!

I don't need a Plan B. I am sure the KLONE genesis block stakeholders will organise many ingenious ways to distribute their shares. Hoarding is death as we all know with POS coins.

KLONE stakeholders will know what they have to do. to make KLONE viable!

I'm sure you will MadCow! Grin

So much people just posting "interested" without even reading the first page or fist comment. Better make it bold that only NXT-based coin developers will get KLONE.

Is there any other way to get involved? I would never sell my KLONE!! ... Smiley I also held on my 42 and will Smiley

Yes I know, some people just post 'interested' and obviously have not read what KLONE is all about. How many on the NEX & NEM & ME.TOO threads are doing the same.

That's the point of KLONE in way - find people who are actually prepared to boot strap a POS coin.

The only way to be an original KLONE stakeholder is to follow the instructions and start a NXT clone. If you don't end up launching your coin, it doesn't matter to me. If you follow the instructions you will have shown enough extra commitment to satisfy KLONE!

I am sure the KLONE stakeholders will organise many interesting ways to disperse the KLONE coins. I think they will be excellent stakeholders, why?  Because they put in a little effort  and time!

Separate the stakeholder wheat, from the 'interested' chaff  Grin

PiNX's use of 'proof-of-pi' is more than a mere test of commitment I think. I'm pretty certain the PiNK NXT clone software will only run on the Raspberry Pi.

Hey Klone, NEM is original one. Me.too and a bunch of others copy from NEM.

While we admit to do some copy and paste from NEX, NEM should be way above in your list  Smiley Especially given that NEM is the most viable effort till now.

While we admit to do some copy and paste from NEX, NEM should be way above in your list  Smiley Especially given that NEM is the most viable effort till now.

The KLONE list should be in chronological order, and nothing to do with the merits of the clone, or the cloner.

BUT, I see that I have NEM at 6, when you should be at 3. I'll change that straight away. I reformatted the links in my announcement thread, and maybe I altered the order by mistake.

Please forgive this error.

GetVisaCoin is 'brother no.1' & 'first among equals' in the KLONE family (being the first to officially announce a NXT clone), but all the stakeholders of KLONE are equal in my eyes. That is something I like about NEM too - equality for the stakeholders.

I love all my clones, but like many 'guardians', it is hard not to have a favourite deep down (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422129.msg4663355#msg4663355). I am trying to see the good in FrictionlessCoin too (it is becoming hard though).

PiNK looks to be a powerful clone warrior, and I like the look of LightVelocityCoin too. I'm not sure about ME.TOO, but his strategy to clone NEM might be more than just  'funny business'.

I think if you looked at the 10 people behind the 10 KLONES we have assembled so far, many might suggest they are a NXT clone dream team. And it's only been a few days.

Talent attracts talent!

I think NEM is a most excellent NXT clone!! I am watching your progress closely.

When the time comes to launch KLONE I hope you will consider assisting me as one of the KLONE Knights at the round table along with the other clone warriors!

I suspect that distributing KLONE coins will require the KLONE stakeholders to actively organise giveaways and bounties much more than with NXT or NEM. If we ended up with 25 stakeholders in KLONE then I think it would be possible for them to distribute the KLONE coins fairly.

The problem with NXT is most of the original 73 did not understand what BCNext intended, so many are not actively involved. Sending their bitcoins was more involved than an 'interested', but still not enough to generate a pre-commitment to the NXT cause.

In that sense BCNext gets only a 50% mark for his psychology experiment. KLONE will get a small number of stakeholders, but they should understand their task, should they accept the challenge to launch KLONE as a real NXT clone.

It is possible my proof-of-clone idea is 'just so crazy it might work'.

There is method to the madness of KLONE. A small number of committed stakeholders might launch a POS coin better than an army of disinterested stragglers.
