How to Start Mining cryptocoins on computer?
It is really easy now.
First, decide what you should mine.
Visit this site http://dustcoin.com/mining to check what is more profitable now.
Important scrypt (like litecoins) is 1000 more complex than SHA-256 (like Bitcoin) – be careful
Currencies change very quickly – check it from time to time
Compare speed of different hardware:
Here you can find the info about speed for mining scrypt coins (like litecoins ) https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison
And from https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison find info for mining SHA-256 like Bitcoin

After you compared and chose coins and hardware,
Download initial software for your coins. It include wallet, and you can create yours then.
Find and select the pool, where you will mine.
NOTE! Mining on your own affordable only, if you have really heavy hardware, if not then it is better to connect existing pool. List for litecoins pools - https://litecoin.info/Mining_pool_comparison

Register  your own id on selected pool
Create worker! (After your ID you could create lots of workers, normally one worker for each PC, so you need at least one)

Select software for mining.
There are lots of different software depending on coin,  hardware,  pools, operating systems and etc.
I recommend GUI Miner script http://sourceforge.net/projects/guiminerscript/ as it for Windows based on cgminer, cudaminer and reaper
Already included setting for popular litecoin pools, has settings for AMD Radeon videocards

What to do with coins?
Buy goods or exchange them into money

Go to https://www.cryptsy.com for exchanging from different coins to Bitcoins or Litecoins, then go to Mr. Gox or btc-e to exchange them into real money.
Have a nice BTC

Nice Welcoming and meaningful Guide for him...Thanks

****************************

Thank you. This is very useful.
I want to do mining with my PC, and I find it's hard to get coin.
Now I want to by the hardware to get started!

Well you can mine any coin technically, as CPU can do anything. It is reccomended that you mine CPU coins, as its a more "fair" playing field so to speak.

The OP never replied to anything and has not made a second post on the entire forum. Maybe he was hit on the head by his ex-girlfriend which caused memory-loss and he forgot there's anything like Bitcoin.

So I'd suggest we just get back to something better and leave this topic alone.

Mine, but definitely not Bitcoin, you'll just waste your time and probably burn out a card or two

If I was at work, I'd mine like a lotto ticket approach.    If I find a block, I just made alot of money Cheesy    and the odds are similar i imagine

Hi, I'm actually selling my GPU Bitcoin/ Litecoin miner if you're interested.

The specs are below
2.160 Mhash/s Scrypt
2.160 Ghash/s SHA256

The miner includes
3x Gigabyte R9 280x (risers included)
Modified CPU case to fit all 3 GPUs
CoolerMaster 1000w Gold PSU

The miner is able to mine coins at a speed of 2100Khash for Scypt. I have to sell it as my power socket cannot handle the load and i was advised to reduce the electrical load by my electrician to prevent damaging my cable.

If you're interested, you can drop me an email at
breannetong@gmail.com

Maybe he realized he won't get rich mining with his PC, and left the bitcoin world Smiley

You should rather mine with a cloud mining service like CEX.IO
Current prices are 0.0094/Ghs for contracts which start mining now and 0.0083 BTC/Ghs for contracts which start mininng on 26th of April (FHA)
With CEX.IO you can start mining today without any hardware running at home.

It is not really profitable to buy the cloud hashrate. You can check it yourself using any profit calculator.

It can be done but it will hurt your computer in the long run unless you keep it properly cooled. Fans, fans and more fans!
