My feeling is that adoption is further away than many imagine.

There's probably only a few hundred thousand people who hold one bitcoin or more and they're all going to be very passionate about it. It's easy when you're up to your ears in the news feeds to assume that tens of millions of people are buzzing about it.

You'd probably feel the same if you were a committed stunt rabbit trainer and were convinced it was about to become an Olympic sport simply because you talk about it all day to your nearest and dearest.

Perhaps tens of millions have heard of it by now. The vast majority won't care very much or would dismiss it immediately after a half hearted look into the details.

Maybe the chasm will come within the year. Perhaps it's further away yet.

Current stage: time to buy Dogecoin!

+Dogecoin tip 1 DOGE

Hey it's been one minute and nobody has praised me for being part of an amazing community that tips fractions of pennies. I gave him a whole 1 DOGE for gods sake. Do you not know that's going to be worth millions this time next decade. Hang on my doorbell is ringing, it's my zillion terabyte hard drive to store the Doge blockchain. All those 1 Doge transactions are so precious.

Back on topic I think the real tipping points comes after the next banking crisis (regional Chinese defaults, EU bail-in, Turkish lira devaluation......). That's going to be the catalyst for Wall Street types to market Bitcoin as a safer store of value than bank saving accounts.

all this dogecoin hassle makes me almost think that it could be worth investing into some although I hate clonecoins.

Dogecoin up something like 300% since Friday... how often you see that happen lately to boring, sideways bitcoin?

Night gathers, and now my bitcoinwisdom watch begins.

I am Sodom from Uzbekistan and I share sentment.

In my opinion, alt coins will not perform well bitcoin long term.  Bitcoin is first coin and winner coin.  Other coins popular for, what they say in Uzbekistan "pump and dump."

BUT, being said that, the best alt coin if you MUST is DOGE.  Reasoningz:

- It has very strong Reddit following (more than LiteCoin): http://www.reddit.com/r/Dogecoin
- The mascot is cute
- Good to support because it not serious and makes other alt coins seem not serious.
- It is clearly going to moon:

So, in clucsion, bitcoin is best and DOGE is second best coin.  Other coins not so good I say.

PS.  Sodom much sorriez for cross post.

A coin the size of Doge making a market move against Bitcoin is very noteworthy. If it holds, it will be in line with the move Litecoin made against Bitcoin in December.

What it obviously means is that a growing group of crypto holders are keeping their DOGEs instead of trading them for Bitcoin.

I think difficulty halving coming up, paired with probably a better noob crowd than Bitcoin enjoys can have a big upside in the coming months.

MUCH PUMP

This mutual praise amongst the pumpers reminds of something in psychology coincidentally also called the "tipping point". The exact details are hazy but there seems to be a point where the chemicals produced during the experience of fun and friendship suddenly overwhelm the brain and you quickly revert to hostility and anger. Dogs have very sharp teeth and strong jaws so be wary of the tipping point.
