It´s just my personal opinion, but if I had 3000 I´d buy bitcoins directly instead of mining.
But if you really want to mine, then the antminer S1 is a good choice. It is new on the market and has due to the 28nm chips very low power consumption But never never ever buy miner on ebay! You pay much more than they are worth. Ask here on the forum in the Marketplace or search an online Asic miner shop.

start with 100gh rig and work up (you'll need to keep adding to keep it sustainable - due to rise in difficulty) don't pay any more than $150 / 10gh - and certainly don't buy on ebay unless you get a proper bargain - remember sellers mark up the prices to cover ebay and paypal fees.

Thank you for the reply. This one seems to be cheaper than the same anywhere I've found online. If I was paying $150/10GH it should be $2700/180GH This is listed at $2600. If I'm doing the math this should produce around $40 per day as of now. am I missing somethig about this miner?

The easiest way for you to mine is cloud mining. They run their own hardware for you but you pay for it. Check out my description to see how

Don't pay for cloud mining. it's not profitable. if you want mining contracts, ask around on the forum, there are usually some private members offering 24hr /weekly / monthly mining contracts on their rigs.
but first, do a but of research as to how many BTC / GH you are likely to earn in any 24 hr period.
