Where did you get this from? Or is this some random thought that you had?

There is no point in bitcoin in civ game because these games are not focused around financial problems and there is only one global currency anyway. You may think of it like bitcoin is in civ games from the start in form of gold that can not be printed from thin air and there is no inflation.

I suppose Bitcoin could be included in the game as a technological advance, or perhaps a 'world wonder', that conferred some kind of economic benefit.

If I've said anything amusing and/or informative and you're feeling generous:

A bit to soon for that, isn't it. If Bitcoin accomplishes anything worth noting in the history of mankind has yet to be seen.

BTW. FIAT money is also in no civ game, neither as Technology or as a WorldWonder.

*** World-Wonder FIAT Money. ***

The Civivilication which builds this Wonder receives unlimited Funds.

If FIAT Money is used more than once per turn it may result in civil unrest.

This World Wonder is obsolete with the discovery of crypto currency.  Tongue

All previous versions of currency will no longer be supported as of this update

Yes, Bitcoin could be a world wonder that would enable some perks like global trade (and eventually obsolete WallStreet, just for lolz).

I think he means games like WoW or Diablo.

They have in-game currency that has actual value (you can trade for USD).

Second life, which isn't actually a game -- it is indeed a "second life" but has a currency of its own -- People build/design anything like you would in the real world but virtual, and people pay for it with the Second Life currency which can also be traded for USD.

I think he is suggesting games might use BTC as the currency instead of a controlled system open for exploits. (botting)

Gold isn't the answer.
