So in the process of getting my rig going so I followed these steps:

1. Installed 1 card and Catalyst drivers.

2. Installed second card in x1 slot and after windows login screen gets all messed up like blue with lines across it. After reboot Windows loads and the AMD driver being installed to the device resolves the problem.

3. Next x1 slot same thing except reboot doesn't resolve the problem. In fact this happens in all the rest of my slots x16 and x1. I am going to use x16 to x16 risers so not worried about those slots

4. I jumped/shorted the x1 slot and didn't get that strange screen but it froze at some point during windows startup.

Questions:

1. This is Windows 8 (hate it) was going to try safe mode but can't find it.

2. If the bios and windows sees a device in the x1 slot do I still need to short it?

3. Should I upgrade to 13.12 drivers? (ireally don't want to do that unless neccessary)
Any ideas?

- MSI Mpower motherboard
- ASUS 280x (6)
- Catalyst 13.11 beta 9.5 drivers

Have you checked that your current drivers support 280x's?
What kind of power-supply do you have? 280X takes about 250W/card...
