The idea of digital currency is slowing starting to make the rounds, including the potential for Bitcoin, but what many of us don’t realize is that’s it’s here to stay. Sure,it’s had a rough start, but once established and disseminated, electronic cash will allow for efficient and convenient online exchanges — and all without the need for those pesky banks. Despite the obvious need for a distributed digital currency protocol, the adoption rate has been relatively slow. Barriers to entry include availability (it’s in limited supply), the cryptography problem (the public still needs to be assured that it’s secure), the establishment of a recognized and trustworthy dispute system (sensing some opportunities here), and user confidence (a problem similar to the one that emerged when paper money first emerged).

If the masses/people have any sense Bitcoin/cryptos should transform the world and be revolutionary, but unfortunately they don't.

give it time. 
look how long it took the Internet to be understood and adopted by the masses and still it hasn't reached its full potential after 20 years.
actually not everyone understands what you can do with the internet still today.

I think it will take much longer for bitcoin to the norm as payment system.  Not to mention many other things bitcoin protocol can do.

I think it will take much longer for bitcoin to the norm as payment system.  Not to mention many other things bitcoin protocol can do.

I don't mind waiting. The longer it takes the masses to get on board the more time I have to accumulate some more Bitcoin wealth  . I don't expect the technology to be adapted quickly, but there'll be a point where the people can't ignore it any longer.

They won't be able to get their heads around Bitcoin (if they have even heard of it) until it is more accessible and forced upon them.
