It's an interesting thought. It will be entirely up to the initial coin owners to raise the profile of the coin for it to have any possible chance of having value, and for miners to mine it, it must be used.
Kind of a cool idea, really. None of this IPO crap. Just give away the coins and let the community run the show.
I'm willing to participate in this social experiment.

How about a decreasing reward for interested people? So someone who signs up at the very end gets less than someone whos supporting this coin from the start? That may not be fair though.
What about only dispensing coins to accounts with 10+ activity? We don't want people creating a bunch of shill accounts to claim stake.

Basing it on activity would be a great idea. Activity means higher likelihood of coin activity. The coin needs active holders to gain any sort of presence. If I get a share it has a place in my signature for a start. I'm curious to see what happens.

Good thought. Thank you for that. I would have overlooked it.

Hey, that was my idea! But if you're already implementing this, please consider this distribution scenario.
Anyone who want to have PMC should perform such actions during distribution phase: 1) Place any amount of BTC on any address he owns. 2) Sign some predefined message like "I want to have Premine coins!" with this address. 3) Post address + message + sign in this topic. 4) Put this BTC on hold for week (or any other specified time) and don't touch them.
At the end of the distribution phase devs should verify all adrresses @ block explorer and give PMC's proportionally to the amount of BTC on hold. This "Proof-of-Hold" will get rid of those guys who have dozens of accounts specially for giveaways.

What timezone are you in, dev? Can we have a round of initial "interested" people in the OP that can reserve a spot? I'm in GMT+1 timezone, and I really don't want to miss the boat on this one.
It would be the fairest to those of us that have been here from the beginning. Thanks.

Hey, it was a good idea! Also an interesting way to handle distribution as well. I could see that being slightly unfair to those who have little BTC, but it is a good thought. I'm running through one final test currently, if all goes well the wallets will be available to download. Compiles successfully for WIN, Debian, Ubuntu (no qt for ubuntu, working on that), and MAC.
