Hi!

For now I have 4x HD 7950 rig. Power consumption from wall is 1150. I think it is ~250W per card.
Each card makes ~650kh/s

Is that good power consumption? I heard this is overkill.

I tried to find bios with lover voltage, but all bioses want work with my windows 7 pro.

Cgminer says i have 1.169V and unable to change it there.

Any ideas how to make power consumption lower?

Check out VBE7. It lets you modify your existing BIOS, and manually lower the voltages. Then you flash your modified BIOS, and your card now runs exactly the same as it did before, but with a lower voltage.

This is nice cuz you can modify the BIOS you're already running, so there's no fear of downloading a BIOS and hoping it's compatible with your GPU.

I used it on a bunch of 280x. Dropped the voltage, and dropped ~40W per GPU. Now, each overclocked 280x runs ~230W.

I have the exact same card, sapphire 7950, from tiger direct. I can't get it to hash above 530 KH/s. What's your cgminer config like? Thanks in advance!

I don't have access to my rig now, but try to add intensity -19 engine -1100 and memory -1250. This should be enaugh to make ~650 kh/s

@crazyates I've seen this, and want this to be my last option Smiley

What settings are you using?

Most 280x should get decent settings with a few parameters. Change any one, and your hashrate drops.

I have the twin frozr 7950 cards but your results should be around the same.  Undervolting will get you 4 cards on 1000w platinum PSU.  If you want more headroom, disable cores on your cpu and or lower the multiplier and back down the voltage for the cpu.. I'm running at 885w for 4 of them. 1.025w each card except for one.. Doesn't like to go below 1.038.  I could prob drop more but I just don't have the time.  Also I use MSI afterburner and also set the voltage in cgminer.

If you like what I've posted, mine for me on whatever algo you like on www.zpool.ca for a minute using my bitcoin address: 1BJJYPRcRPzTEfByCwkeJ8SCBcrnGD1nhL

The card itself should pull much less than 250w if undervolted.  I have a i3-2100 system doing 262w on a Seasonic 750 Gold with 1 card mining at 715KH/s, if I took out the extra HD, RAM, and clocked down the CPU the total system would probably go below 240w, making the card less than 200w.
