Im trying to understand the current ecosystem of block chains/networks and the cyrptocurrencies they support.
Obviously there is Bitcoin, and the currency it uses is bitcoins, but which other currencies or services actually use the bitcoin block chains? Nxt? Mastercoin? Color coins? Or do they have their own blockchain?
What about ripple, Bitcloud, Ethereium and the various Scyrpt based coins? Are they bascially the same concept as bitcoin but they have their own block chain/ledger and a coin associated with it?
So really, aside from the some technical tweaks, massive support from miners and the advantages of being first to market, bitcoin really isn't much different or superior to a lot of the other coins/networks/blockchians out there?
Most coins have their own blockchains but some are built on or around the BTC chain. I'd say Bitcoin
is superior, and all the others are inferior or mere copies/clones with a few tiny tweaks.
