Why Ethereum Altcoin?

My question is that why ethereum is counted in altcoin.As you know that many upcoming ICOs is used ethereum based technology that is ERC-20.Then why not ethereum is top ranking coin like bitcoin!

Altcoin it is just words. Ethereum is not an altcoin. Ethereum is its own, unique blockchain with superiority over Bitcoin. Ethereum is the next generation of crypto currency after bitcoin.

It’s very simple apart from bitcoin all other coins are altcoins even ethereum considered as blockchain 2.0 but it is accepted world after bitcoin so all other coins after bitcoin is calling as alt coins .

All other digital codes, not Bitcoin, are referred to as Altcoin! The coin running on the Etherium platform is called a token! The name is not entirely clear, depending on the usage as well as the views of each person, each organization and their purpose!

Although late development of Altcoin and Bitcoin has many common grounds, Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency discovered and applied to life. Its use is that many tokens cannot do it! For example, pay for a meal!

Are you joking with me? ethereum as the second largest platform in the world right now. It's even reached number one on the china's voting about the popular crypto on the country.
The only reason because the bitcoin as the first cryptocurrency and it has more valuable compared with ethereum and bitcoin has adopted by a lot of people around the world.

Bitcoin is the first crypto currency present in the world. Ethereum can not be a bitcoin because ethereum is created after bitcoin. Ethereum is an alternative to coins other than bitcoin, which has a different character.

Ethereum has a feature that bitcoin doesn't have which is the smart contract that's why people call and use it as an alternative to the bitcoin, Ethereum and bitcoin basically cannot be compared since they are different, they have their own unique feature. However, if we compare ethereum to other smart contracts so far ethereum is a popular, favorite and the king of smart contract right now.

Although eth has its own blockchain this can not hide the fact that it is still an altcoin or belong in the altcoins group. Bitcoin is the first crypto currency and from being the first crypto it recieved an honor as the original one, the very reason why every coins and tokens that came and will come after btc are called altcoin. That is why having own blockchain doesn't clear the fact that eth is an altcoin.

Ethereum is altcoin because it's not Bitcoin . All cryptocurrency created after Bitcoin is altcoin and all other cryptocurrencies created depend on other altcoin blockchain like ETH or WAVES are tokens. Although Ethereum is a good cryptocurrency maybe even better than Bitcoin in few fields but it'll be altcoin forever

Who says that it is not the top ranking coin like bitcoin? It is actually the top most altcoin itself. The matter of fact that it is called as altcoin is that it is other coin than bitcoin and in the crypto currency definition (not official) but any coin that is formed after the bitcoin is cornered as the altcoin. Others are formed when they took the concept of bitcoin work space and they started running on the blockchain too.

ETH is also called as king of the altcoins while the bitcoin is king of the king. There has to be difference, isn't it.

Yeah ethereum is very useful that's why it's number 2 in coinmarketcap ranking.

Because there's only slot for number 1 and currently it's bitcoin in the slot. Maybe someday ethereum will dethrone bitcoin.
