I suggest p2pool but setup your own node. Until then you can mine at eligius at 0% fee.

What is the advantage of setting up my own node?

Yes you are campaining for p2pool and your node. I dont mind you campaining for p2pool. Everyone should use it. I just question your methods.

I also dont know where you get that pps with 7% fee is the most popular? Anyone with half a brain know that 7% is going to earn them 7% less then a 0% pool.

I accept that p2pool is the most efficent and morally best choice to mine but youre benchmark is meaningless especially when you compare lowest fee with highest fee on the market.

Fair enough, Im running 5 antminers on BTCguild. From Jan 1st to Jan 14th I have gotten 48 automated 0.1 BTc withdrawals . 4.8 BTC  in which is exactly how much you mined at p2pool over the same timeperiod.

So you earned .96BTC per ant miner in 2 weeks? Thats .068BTC per day. That's pretty awesome! Over the course of 31 hours I earned .043BTC, so you are earning over 50% more. Are your Ants over clocked? I am running mine at 400Mhz, avg 197Gh/s at a 1.9% error rate.

What is the advantage of setting up my own node?

- you will have full control on your node.
- nobody will be able ddos your node if it not public and you do not publish your ip.
- if you have good hardware for server than you can get better latencies etc

I do not see other advantages but maybe someone else tip it

Yes theyre overclocked. That result was 1st jan to 14th jan. Difficulty has increased alot since then so you cant compare it to now. 31 is also really small timeframe.

I can confirm the results.

Ok, I have my AntMiner S1, which pool is the best to use? BTCguild  PPS or PPLNS, or a different pool?

Slush pool any good?

Slush and BTCguild are both fine pools.  Deepbit.net is fine too.  All three reputable, honest, and have been around a long time.  P2pool is good and should get your lower fees and a higher return over time, but with higher short term variance.   It is really just a question of looking at the costs, orphans and benefits of each and then deciding what is important to you.

bitparking.com has merge mining with a variety of merged coins.

If you ever mine alt coins, I run a TRC pool I'd recommend. Wink
