In my opinion this is one of the main problems here, that you, if you are a little fish can not affect market, but manipulated market can affect your earnings, decreasing them to zero.

Yes, I really believe that there are whale manipulators out there in the crypto market. Basically, if you had observed the crypto market movement in the past months where it is really unpredictable and in most cases, we are experiencing too much of the fluctuations than compared to an uptrend movement. These whale investors anyhow buy more btc during bear market and they tend to hold longer until it will pump again and gaining good profit.

I guess that is not the problem here, disregard how much you invested or how much you have if many bitcoin holder pulls off the price will drastically go down. We can be Whales, group of person can be whales too, i mean we are the reason why bitcoin fluctuates, but because of our greed bitcoin will be just a means of speculation of us.

I read recently on Bloomberg that the Justice Department has opened a criminal probe into whether traders are manipulating the price of Bitcoin and other digital currencies, dramatically ratcheting up U.S. scrutiny of red-hot markets that critics say are rife with misconduct, according to four people familiar with the matter.

According to the report, investigators are specifically looking into practices like spoofing (filling the marketplace with fake orders that are later canceled to manipulate others to buy or sell a particular coin) and wash trading (trading with oneself in order to falsely imply more market demand than there actually is). There are forms of cheating that have long existed and been battled in more traditional financial markets, but cryptocurrency’s lack of serious regulation or monitoring may have given these old scams a new place to thrive.

What do you say about this guys?

Let's hope that these allegations of bitcoin price manipulation will contribute to the long-term health of the cryptocurrency market, which is really important.

In my own opinion, there is no price manipulations in the market coming from government or any country but speculations and news that are being released by media's can actually affect the market prices today.

We are in a difficult position on one hand I do not want to let a government the power to regulate how we exchange our coins but at the same time it is obvious there are many things going on that are not honest and we need to get rid of them if the market is to succeed, in my opinion exchanges should take responsibility and police their members for signs of manipulation but it seems they do not care at all about what is happening.

that is true about half the market. what you are talking about is the overall market movement that is the result of all the traders that are in that market. manipulation won't work when it is going against that market movement. for example last year I believe it was around $2000 that we saw a bunch of bear whales started dumping to push the price down, they obviously were going against the market and they were crushed and lost a lot of money because the market moved up and killed them like bugs.
but when a whale goes with the market movement like pushing the price lower when it is already a bear market then they can manipulate it harder.

Yes i think bitcoin price is still manipulated. But not all times is good to sell in low price. I think best solution is to hold and wait now.
