Hello All,
I want to preface this question by saying that I have no interest in creating another shitcoin. This is purely and academic venture that I am undertaking in order to better understand how the Bitcoin system works. I do not have much experience in cryptography but I am a software developer by trade.

I have cloned out the Dogecoin source code (for simplicity sake as it already has the functions to generate the genesis hashes). Everything was going great until I started testing mining on my coins main net. When I attempt to mine on the main net my wallet shows the hashespersec as 0 but when i try mining on the test net the hashespersec jumps up when I issues the setgenerate true command.

I have been searching for the cause for a few days now and can't seem to isolate what is causing it. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where I should look for what is causing this issue?

PS: I just want to make it clear that this coin is not going to go out to the public as I do not wish to put another shitcoin out there. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against people creating altcoins. I just feel that if you are going to put a new coin on the market that it should have some improvements included or whats the point?

Thank you in advance!

I cloned 4 coins for my clients, both sha-256 and scrypt and never had this problem.
