Looks like quite a cool festival, but not really my sort of music. Is there a line0up anywhere on that site? ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.boomfestival.org%2Fboom2014%2Fsite%2Fassets%2Ffiles%2F1717%2Fboom2014_etickets_bitcoin_940x450-2.950x450.jpg&t=663&c=vACf7Z_pyWK4Ng)

Sounds great!! Yet another step in the right direction! So we have stores, festivals, universities, bars. What else do we need to get by? A supermarket would be good.

A website where you can buy any drugs you want... oh wait. The end goal is to be able to buy anything you could possibly want with it, and every time something like this announces they're taking BTC, it is, like you said, a step in the right direction.

Looks like quite a cool festival, but not really my sort of music. Is there a line0up anywhere on that site? it's a psytrance festival, expect most current psy producers/djs perform there. Lineup usually posted couple month before starting date as they continue to book musicians. great news on BOOM starting to accept bitcoin! i was waiting for the moment when would progressive crowd start digging Bitcoin, and it seems to catch up with them now, awesome!

Yeah exactly. Just waiting for news of the first house paid for on bitcoin (not cashed to fiat first).

Bitcoin is certainly philosophically aligned with the free-spirit nature of most music festivals. If anyone from the bitcoin community is attending I would be curious to hear about any vendors that are wheeling and dealing in BTC.

Yeah, please report back here with the details. I agree. The UK is begging for revolution at the moment, and bitcoin compliments that perfectly. We have a government that are selfish, conniving dicks, and a 'democratic' system where there's nobody you want to vote for. I know it's not as bad as other nations with obvious oppression, and it's important to have that perspective. Anyway, let us know what you find.

It's cool, but they didn't take away (or reduce) the fee portion in the price.

That's where the price reduction is supposed to come in. Except in mid-late bull markets (in which case, sales pour in), BTC generally has to be pried from consumers with gimmicks and discounts. On the merchant's end, they often aren't willing to offer more than the discount over taking credit, which, while significant in the big picture over many transactions, usually isn't enough to pry BTC away from consumers in individual transactions. Of course, telling a merchant "I want you to invest in the legal, accounting, and possibly developer resources to accept BTC, then sell your merchandise for 10% under FMV so you can speculate with a volatile currency/commodity/whatever-a-bureaucrat-called-it-in-the-latest-letter and hope it increases" is not generally well-received outside of businesses offering a promotional time period or where revenues are not a primary motivator for the business. A small part of this can be resolved by making it easier to buy and sell BTC, but there's a good bit more to the problem mostly related, I think, to price volatility.
