BFGminer vs Pool hash rates

I have tried searching this topic, and can't find the answer for which I am looking. I am currently mining on slush's pool, and bfgminer is reporting ~7.8 Gh/s while slush is reporting somewhere around ~4 -5 gh/s.

Most of what I have seen is that there might be a minor difference, but nothing this extreme. Any help would be appreciated.

I do know there is lag time between the hash-rate being updated. I also think slush calculates their hash-rate based on your accepted work only vs all work(accepted, stale, rejected, old work).
