That's because altcoins price movement still depending with bitcoin and bitcoin currently dominating the market cap by 41.9%. So when bitcoin price drops then altcoins will follow.

I think everything depend on bitcoin. SO just watch closely how bitcoin move and decide what to do with all altcoins. Nothing good wait for altcoins when bitcoin going down.

Whenever there is a major price drop, the fall in value of altcoins will be very big. This is possible to be retained only when the price of bitcoin as well the head of altcoins increase. One of my holdings have gone as low as $0.006 from the value around $0.1 months back. I don't know what is gonna happen further, such drop gets recovered or not. Just with the hope having patience to experience a good pumping.

My answer is always bitcoin will always beat all. this is due to, “because Bitcoin is king/queen, and the other coins are at best following it.

It is hard to come up with a fundamental algo with which to price coins, so coin prices just follow Bitcoin as a sort of gold standard (“the Bitcoin Standard”).

It is the number one coin, and thus it is the coin that decides the market price in general.

If there is another standard way of changing ALTs to other currencies example to FIAT. it would much less affected to the price of BTC.

everyone believes that it's over, but when we see things get worse than before, They seem to lack confidence in many altcoins because they do not carry much practical value.

This year is often the case all coins fall simultaneously. I do not really understand what is the main cause why all coins can fall simultaneously. But I hope that this is only temporary and we will all feel the result at the end of 2018.

maybe it's because of bitcoin price increases too higher and it's not usual and then the price is adjusting the right price for this year. and this gives impact to the altcoin which going to increase so higher too but suddenly, bitcoin price is down and even down too deep and it pushes the altcoin to go down too. although the altcoin is dropping like crazy, there are many altcoins that is trying to stay in that level of the price and some of them is trying to increase more and more.

I think good step to do at this moment is buying more coins at the dip then hold till end of this year or you can sell them when price going up.

Bitcoin is the ruler and if bitcoin is dropping huge then how altcoin can survive , with every dip of bitcoin altcoin dip at more speed than bitcoin . today if bitcoin crashed and come back to 2000 dollar then most of altcoins will die and only few will survive . altcoins also need the bull run or stability of bitcoin to rise in value .

It will be good if the trend didn't last long but the trend last for awhile maybe ending of next month because of the FBI investigation on almost 132 top crypto currency darknet user, the whales dumping the price and some FUD raise by some government official.

we do not know whether after this bitcoin will go up or down again to 6k dollars / BTC because all coins go up and down depending on bitcoin and ethereum, if issue issues keep coming do not expect to rise

well in my site seeing after all the value comes out right now like too depth and hard for holders to see this value too small but to think that the value would be based the demand on the market and many investors would like to have it. so if alt would go down like bitcoin then it we could say that developer of that project getting too hard to develop as of now that most currently known is btc and ethereum and its low tide.

Alcoins can't afford to increase more to surpass the decrease trend of Bitcoin. They are dependent to the Bitcoin price movements, so BTC falls then most of the altcoins also fall.
