My account was hacked on May 18 2018.

I want to recover my account but I can't sign a message using my bitcoin address. So my question is Can I recover my account using Ethereum address?
Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I don't think so. But it's probably worth a try.

Doesn't verify for me. Admin's probably won't accept an eth addresses anyway so please provide other sources.
A signed message from a bitcoin address is likely the only thing that is going to get your account back. If you can't provide that then you should at least try sort the ethereum one out.

Why can't you sign a message with your BTC address?

Well can't speak on behalf of admin, but we haven't seen any example where account getting recovered using Ethereum address. But still you can try... and try it now since turn around time is quite long.

My bitcoin address is from coins.ph I can't sign a message with that site. But I can offer to open my coins.ph account to prove that I'm the owner of my account.

I tried. I already pmed cyrus but no reply.

Verified. But please remember to use the code tag when posting an ETH signed message. Otherwise, BitcoinTalk will break the 'sig' string in two lines and put an space between it, making the verification to fail.

Also, next time don't forget to stake a Bitcoin Address which private-key you control to be used in cases like this one.

Thanks. I will stake a Bitcoin address with private key that can signed a message after I recover it.
What do you think can I recover it?

As already said, it's not likely that you will be able to recover account with a signed message from ETH address.

This is BITCOINtalk forum and having message signed by bitcoin address is a logical choice. I wish we have a better solution using SMS authentication or 2FA. Admins here are super busy to resolve each case manually reviewing appeals. Not an efficient system at all.

IIRC, Cyrus did not want to accept a not-bitcoin address because this direction from theymos says it needs to be a bitcoin address.

I am not sure if theymos ever gave the okay to use an altcoin signed message, although he should allow major altcoin addresses to be used, perhaps specifying that litecoin, ether, ether classic, bitcoin cash, can be used, as usage of each of those coins is very widespread, and each of their cryptography is secure based on their standing within the market.
