I am looking for an alternative coin for payments on LEASERIG.net.

Reasons why I decided so are following;
- BTC has high mandatory fee of min 0.0001
- BTC is slow (sometimes takes more hours for customers to get their deposit fully confirmed)

Most altcoins have improved these issues of BTC. Now, I know that being accepted on LEASERIG means great promotion for your coin, but I am going to choose only one for now so it very much depends on how good you represent me your coin (why should I choose your coin and not some other coin, what are the benefits) and what can you provide (support-wise and implementation-wise).

I expect to get offers (send me PM) from altcoin devs. Will make a final decision on 9th of Feb 2014. If I get no offers, LTC will most likely be chosen.

Also, please post in this thread to keep it active so many devs can see it. Thank you!

If you decide for other coin, will there still be option to pay in BTC?
What if the rig owner does not want to receive other currencies than BTC?
Will there be dual-price plans or only one of the currencies?

Dual price plan. Each rig provider will be able to decide which coin is accepted (or both). Of course, it would be suggested to accept new coin - due to BTC issues mentioned in first post.

DGC would be a good choice. It has a good stable hash rate, price is pretty stable with an upward trend and it has an active community of it's own.

As a rig owner I'd prefer something easily exchangeable on the big exchanges.

I like<--------------------------------------------------->I don't like
LTC-----------------------------------PPC--NMC-----everything else

edit: Obviously BTC first. Maybe lower needed confirmations to 2 or so as Pustul said below.

Transaction time would be a good thing, maybe you could accept new transactions after 2 confirmations instead of 6?
I like BTC because you don't have to exchange it after and with the change of alts fluctuating like crazy and exchange fees it's too much hassle. Maybe LTC because the change is fairly stable.

I also suggest Nxt. It has by far the biggest potential to stay there. I even guess it has a greater potential than Litecoin to stay there for years.
Moreover it's processing time will be substantially shorter than LTC's.
Right now the mandatory fee is 1 Nxt, which might be a bit high for your expectations, but soon this will be lowered, since volume will increase.

You can learn more about Nxt here: https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=276 and here  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=364218.0 about "transparent mining" which allows Nxt to process thousands of transations per second.

Check out the updates about Nxt from the conference in Miami:

Hey everyone!!

I just got to meet with the guys at cryp2cash.com. They are a couple of good guys and are interested working with Nxt.

Check out my post at Bitcointalk for more info: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg4732433#msg4732433

This would drastically increase liquidity for Nxt and would put it in the hands of others outside of the crypto community.

If you could take a minute and check out their site and send them an email thanking them for meeting with us and that you support their interest in Nxt.

Also if you are a core or client dev, please drop me a PM right away so I can get you in contact with their dev to get the ball rolling.

Thanks guys!

The first person shooter we saw looked good (see screenshot at btt post) I spoke with the CEO. He is very open to the idea of adding in alts such as Nxt, I let him know we have a number of talented developers that could assist with getting a wallet to work.  He's agreed to do a conference call with their CIO, we'll follow-up early next week.

****ACTION ITEM****

Please take a couple minutes and head over to the bbt post and do the action item. I would appreciate it!!

Had lunch with one of the organizers of the Austin, Texas Bitcoin conference.

We need to get a speaker there to talk about Nxt and what all we have to offer!

Check out more info here at the btt post:

I had a chance to speak to Paul over at Cryptsy. Paul seemed to be very familiar with Nxt and is interested in integrating. This is not a confirmation but as close a possible. I understand their concerns, we need our development team to help show them the way ASAP.

Head over to btt post for more info and see action item:

I met with the guys at Kraken. They were really receptive and wanted to know more about Nxt. I think this was a good start of the relationship and will schedule a meeting with the CEO this coming week.

I met with Elizabeth from Bitcoin magazine with Justabit. She was interested in Nxt and wanted to do a follow up to the Coindesk article about Nxt. Elizabeth is going to get us in contact with the new lead writer and Justabit is going to make this happen for us which will be big!

Had a great conversation with the guys at CoinFlash ATM. They encouraged us to swarm the website to add Nxt, I will handle this early in the week. Great open source system that facilitates an easy way to add additional currencies. Once we end up on this ATM, we will use it as leverage to work our way on the rest of them.

Look for a swarm early in the week.

This might be one of the of most exciting updates. Justabit introduced me to the GoCoin (payment processor) team. We had an opportunity to talk about Nxt PoS and what separates it from the onslaught of other coins.  JustaBit is passing on final information for Peer...  once we have a solid wallet, GoCoin will be ready to look deeper into Nxt This was a great step and feel we opened up another door today.

As a side note, JustaBit and I attended one of the panels that had GoCoin. JustaBit mentioned Nxt during the audience question segment  and later in the meeting, GoCoin made a mention of Nxt and JustaBit stood up and said "Oh yeah". Smiley Fun moment... I was surprised at how many people at least heard of Nxt in some fashion.

We sat down for lunch with one of the managing partners of BitAngels. They have raised over 10 million dollars and looking to fund decentralized applications regardless of the platform. This could be a great funding opportunity down the road... in fact, there's a crypto shark tank that we'll talk about shortly that'll appear at Bitcoin Vegas. Had a great time talking about Nxt and look forward to following up on this initial meeting next week.

As we start to grow, it's important to focus on venture and angel investor involvement.

I would consider CACH.

Owners are asking for 100 CACH/BTC due the announcement that you will eventually be able to use CACH to purchase Fibonacci Scrypt ASICs.

Please check out DigiByte! This is the exact reason our coin was created. We have a 1BTC:1000DGB Ratio to Bitcoin. Please check us out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=408268.0

Why use DigiByte?

1) Speed: DigiByte is Blazing fast! Much faster than Bitcoin & Litecoin, and fast enough to buy coffee at Starbucks in a few seconds if they ever decided to use DigiByte!!

2) Transactional Currency:With 21 billion coins, DigiByte will primarily become a worldwide currency traded for goods & services, and not a volatile speculative commodity like Bitcoin. DigiByte has a natural ratio of 1BTC:1000DGB to Bitcoin. This means that if Bitcoin is worth $1,000 DigiByte should be worth $1 -$10. A Perfect price for buying goods & services. No one likes to look in their wallet and see that they have 0.001 coins; 1,000 DigiBytes are much more appealing.

3) Community: DigiByte was planned and designed for over a month before launch. Now, we open the community up to all those wishing to participate and contribute to its success.

4) Fair Launch: DigiByte was announced more than 3 days ahead of time. It was delivered at the exact minute advertised with a countdown timer for a fair launch. Over a half million dollars in hardware were thrown at the network in the first few minutes alone.

5) Transparency: The pre-mine of DigiByte is publicly posted and is used to further the long-term success of DigiByte.

6) DigiByte Name: You store data in megabytes & gigabytes. Why not store money in DigiBytes?

You should really consider Graincoin. It's accepted by quite a few small retail stores, and its 5% POS element has kept the price stable for a couple of weeks. No need to take a gamble on some new unknown coin. Go with one that's already being used for payment.

Plus, I'll pay in Grain.  Grin
