Yes... over 2Ghs for BITCOIN hashing. You must have problems understanding things.

Again, if you actually cared to READ, you would see I was referring to Bitcoin mining at 2.8Gh/s. Each card does well over 700Mh/s.

Let me break that down for you;

4 X 700 = 2800Mh/s

2800Mh/s can also be shows as 2.8Gh/s because 1000MH (rounded down) is a the same as 1GH.

Do I need to break down the process for you some more?

Also, if you cared to read, you should see that I went on to say that they are currently being used to mine LTC, meaning they are no longer being used to mine BTC, and I never mentioned the hashing speed of LTC mining so please don't make another bullsh!t post.

In any case, I am currently running at 7,200KH/s (approx. 7.2Mh/s) for LTC.

I still think you're wrong. I have 10500KHs, which is mining LTC, it is 10.5MHs and 0.0105GHs.

Am I wrong? I got this info from bitcoinwisdom, here is a link: http://bitcoinwisdom.com/litecoin/difficulty

Wrong about what exactly? Have you ever mined BTC with GPU's? They hash in MH/s, not KH/s.

I know this, I can mine with my GPU's  for bitcoin but from what I can see my 10.5MH is only really 0.105GH

Well then buddy you're doing something seriously wrong.

Have a look at some of the GPU hashing speeds for Bitcoin. You can see they are marked as "Mhash/s" then go down to 7970 and you will see they can go up to 825MH/s with proper cooling.

If you want to mine BTC with graphics cards, and you don't care about electricity, that's fine too.

You need to go to www.coinish.com and enter your Mh/s and see how much you get.

I think CGminer stopped supporting graphics cards for BTC mining at about version 3.7.2 -ish, so you need an earlier version of CGminer or whatever other miner you want to use.

But, 2 x 7950's mining BTC will yield 0.00022924 coins per day, which is $0.19 (and burn about $1000 in power in 12 months).

You're better off buying a Jalepeno, or some red-fury's off E-bay and mess around with those for a couple of hundred bucks.

Even if you have free power, the graphics cards create heat, which even though it's winter now, at some point, you'll have to cool the room once the weather gets warm. And, fans running at full power are usually annoying.

At least you'll learn something about mining, looking at the bright side.

this is a joke right???
are you ducking serious???
Jalapeno??? Really??? Red-fury for couple of hundred bucks??? really???

LOL

You are aware how difficulty is high?Huh
you are aware that right now 60gh ASIC is considered worthless???
Jalapeno and red fury are nothing else but peace of history so throwing couple of hundred dollars on them doesn't make any sense.

Its funny eh??

I have mined BTC before, I actually bought a first batch avalon wayyyy back when.. I have never mined btc with GPU's and I have now go on to build a small GPU farm to mine LTC with.

Excuse me if I may be inaccurate in my beliefs but I was just going on the info provided to me through

ok, guess your right.

omg someone on the intarwebs admitted the other person was right. technically they didn't say that they were wrong, but it's close.
In case anyone missed what's going on here- SHA-256 can be hashed at a much higher hash rate with GPU's in comparison to the Scrypt algorithm.
So while a 7970 can hit 700Mhashes crunching the SHA-256 code, the same 7970 will only hash around 700Khashes when crunching the Scrypt stuff.

The point is kinda moot tho, as 700MHashes is a drop in the bucket...or more like a drop in the ocean, for bitcoin. Although 700Khashes is still somewhat useful for mining lower difficulty scrypt coins (doge maybe?)
If you get 16 of those 700Khash cards running you can make a nice $1500 profit on a month of mining LTC, depending on your power costs...

Just really interesting to see the "guess your right"
I don't care what they say about you Bobsurplus. you're ok by me.

What are you talking about?
With gpu-s you can still earn anything by mining doge or something else on multipool.
With 5-10-30 or even 60gh you can't earn ANYTHING!!!
You are limited to BTC mining only and diff is sky high.
