For inspiration, I offer up the flag that almost made it to the South Pole:

The deadline for submissions is March 4, 2014, my birthday.

I will pay out $100 USD via BTC on March 5, 2014, for the best flag design to be place onto Mount Everest this summer, 2014.

The sign MUST have a place allocated for a QR-Code and the sponsor's name. As a place holder, please use BitPay and the following QR-Code:

As always, I will be fair during payout time.

This post may/will be updated, with all edits, sans grammar, appearing below my sig.

Can it be based on an existing flag?

Can it be based on an existing flag?

Sure, but bear in mind the bounty's based on the best design regardless on what inspired the end result.

BTW, I'm about to introduce a race that any climber can enter, with the winning funds, held in escrow, to be paid to the first person who documents the planting of the first Bitcoin flag atop Mount Everest. The flags will be delivered this spring to all the climbers wanting to participate in the race.

Genius, eh?

I would do the climb if I had the finances to get over there with proper gear! I'm 23 and in great shape!

If someone provides me with signs I will stick them all over the Tampa Bay area, Gasparilla is going on and we should spread awareness by having signs to stick all over the place, stickers or in ground signs (susceptible to be stolen) anyone know of a member of the community who can provide BTC related signs to raise awareness and take pictures of the cool locations to have them posted.

Well, L.I.B., I found an interesting tidbit:

Quote
Gasparilla was inspired by the legend of José Gaspar, supposedly a Spanish nobleman and naval officer who turned to piracy. The legend says that Gasparilla sailed from a secret island base south of Tampa in Charlotte Harbor, plundering ships in the Gulf of Mexico and along the Spanish main from the late 1700s until 1821, when, to avoid being captured by the schooner USS Enterprise, he wrapped himself in chains and threw himself overboard while shouting ""Gasparilla dies by his own hand, not the enemy's!"

Wow Phinnnaeus you're quite the encyclopedia!
I never knew or heard of that, definitely sharing that with everyone because most likely nobody has heard this before!! It makes sense because Fort Desoto (Spanish ruins) are not far from the Tampa Bay area, near my residency!
