Comments needed:

going to build new rig with 4 gpu and 5 psu

i have in use 5 x 300w psus

1 psu for mobo and drives etc.
4x1 psu for each gpu

each gpu with 1x-16x rises, power cables going to mobo cutted, 5 wires to cut and solder to gpu´s psu

common ground with psus - gpu - mobo

green/common wake up wired to each psu

before the smoke, did i miss anything?

I'm gonna put my two cents in and say: I tried running a rig with 2 PSUs... had constant restarts.

which gpu?
if you run 280x the 300w psu are too small

+1

I'm guessing 7950+

You'd need 5x decent 550W PSUs.

Buying 2x 1050W PSUs, or 2x good 850w and one 550w would be better choice.

yes its 280x
psus have rate limited 300w continuous
psu allready tested to work fine with 280x
one gpu uses 240w

issue is not the size of psus

going to build it up soon to day
so i have a little hurry if there is something wrong with my setup

I think you may be OK.  However I would advise that you put in the GPUs one at a time and reboot the computer and make sure the card gets recognized/mines correctly etc.  If you put all 5 in and something doesn't work right, you will have a hell of a time diagnosing the problem.  I would also recommend that once you have the machine dialed in and it works reliably, to lower the voltage of the cards to prolong the life of the PSUs.

I tried this spreading PSU's like this, except i had another motherboard to turn the psu on and off instead of soldering wires.

Short story short, wires shorted out, fire shot from the cards... luckily no damage to the cards, only melted wires all over the place.

Although i was using adapters, molex to 8-pin, so that might have been the cause to.

depending on clocks a 280x might go to 300W and beyond
if you ground everything together and don't OC too much you might be fine...

voltage dropped, 1.02v in bios, every thing grounded together

nice Smiley

can you post watt total consumption and total hashrate of rig and how you connected PSUs in parallel?
