How many threads do you need to make, this is the third one on the first page.

Bitcoinica is worthy of at least a few more. Freakin' amazing that a 17-yr old built it in a week and it's designed well, intuitive, and (thus far) has been very smooth and glitch free.

Seriously impressive.

I post at most one thread per day. Getting it on first page means it's fairly popular.

Bitcoinica is now the second largest exchange, but there are only three threads about it in this forum.

More people should be invited to join and see.

Yes, that is just what I want for systems that hope to handle hundreds of thousands of dollars. Young coders with no financia services experience coding it in a week.

As a proof-of-coding ability. Sure, absolutely fantastic, someone offer this kid a job.

As a bitcoin exchange when we have had hack after hack after hack? errrr, not so much.

Soooo... maybe you should encourage people not to put more money than they can afford to risk/lose on something so new and unproven. It would be insane to put anything other than "gambling money" into Bitcoinica at this stage. But with that said, Bitcoinica is damn impressive and worth playing around with.

Watch out guys.  Their Mt Gox. limit was reached on their account and you currently cannot withdraw via Gox code!  This has been an issue for the past ~12 hours, and it still has not been fixed.  Cry

Looks good, but FYI there doesn't seem to be any way to see this if you are logged in.  Only if you are not logged in can you see this when you show up on the main page.

FYI People,

Bitcoinica was created and is run by a 17 year old.

http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2973301

And the best part is that he is totally open about it and has never tried to hide it. The ingenuity amazes me.

Btw, his success should be an eye opener to the rest of exchangers.

Hi,

We apologize for the inconvenience. Bitcoinica was growing at a completely unexpected rate.

Mt. Gox has already responded to us and we are preparing our documents and submit to them for approval.

Withdrawals on Bitcoinica will be recovered after a few hours (24 hours passed), and currently if you need urgent withdrawal, you can send an email to info@bitcoinica.com indicating how much you want to withdraw. It will be processed within 1 hour.

Thank you for your support!

I'm guessing this is the reason for the recent spike in BTC value.

I'm guessing this is the reason for the recent spike in BTC value.

They allow short selling, so I dont think its the reason of the recent spike. They could have as well produced a big sell off.

What's wrong with my data? I fetched them yesterday.

Currently Bitcoinica is still the second largest trading platform.

We will contact Bitcoin Charts to list our platform soon.

Thank you very much for the support! We really appreciate it!

Perhaps you can mention a little bit about our API. We're the first Bitcoin trading platform that supports RESTful API, which makes API implementation painless and elegant.

Our API documentation: https://www.bitcoinica.com/pages/api

Again, thank you for your support!

I think most people don't trust Bitcoinica if they (he) don't publish more company details/contact infos.
