CharterAce matches clients with a perfect yacht or jet by utilizing its global network of operators and central agents allowing them to broker some of the lowest rates in the industry.
The founder and CEO of CharterAce.com, Timothy Boulay, teamed up with close friend Justin Blincoe, CFO of Coinapult, to accept Bitcoin payments without additional processing fees. Coinapult has the ability to exchange any price item available through CharterAce.com, including yacht charters up to $1,000,000 USD per week, allowing them to offer some of the biggest ticket items available for purchase in the bitcoin marketplace.
Coinapult shoulders the risk of price volatility and instantly transfers fiat currency to book a charter. Boulay stated that, "clients could benefit using bitcoin as a payment system to book chartered travel; it will make the transfer of funds cheaper, faster, and it will add a layer of anonymity."
When questioned about transaction security with Bitcoin, Boulay responded, "We didn't want to be behind the boat with the integration of Bitcoin into everyday business; but with the high cost of luxury travel, we didn't know how to mitigate bitcoin price volatility risk until meeting with Coinapult."
While CharterAce does not anticipate a large amount of their business in 2014 to come from the Bitcoin community, it is offering discounts on charters booked with Bitcoin to help promote the use and global acceptance of Bitcoin.
