That's not the whole story. The pair were allegedly running a money laundering conspiracy together and deliberately kept it hidden from the rest of BitInstant's employees. The arrests have nothing to do with the fact that they were running bitcoin exchanges, that's just the vehicle they used to carry out their scheme.
