Hi trying to find a good and trusted bit coin wallet ?
Any advise on good ones or ones to avoid would be great.

Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

You don't specify what kind of wallet you want:
- local storage or web
- mobile or desktop
- full or partial blockchain
Whatever you choose, the security of your local computer is of the highest importance.
If it gets infected with malware, hackers could get access to your local wallet file just as well as they could grab your password for a web wallet.
So if you want to store nontrivial amoounts of bitcoins, make absolutely sure that the computer on which the wallet or wallet password information is stored is secure.

Otter skin is all the rage in Finland right now!
To rich for me, so I use Bitcoin-qt. I do not trust the online wallets.
I would rather take my chances and get key logged than let a online wallet get hacked.

Try an online blockchain.info one first which is good for beginners. Just make sure you set up all the security features - second password 2 factor auth etc. |

A good way to store your bitcoin safely is by diversifying your money in different places.
I currently have all these wallets:
Android bitcoin wallet
Mycelium
Blockchain
Coinbase
Bitcoin Qt
Cold storage paper wallet

I really like blockchain.info. Real simple to use, don't need to download anything, allows for paper wallets for offline storage, and there are apps for mobile use to keep track of everything! Plus they have 2 factor, plus you can limit it to specific IPs only that can access your account as well. |

Electrum or Multibit is good.
You don't need to have the full blockchain with them.

Because it does what they need better than the others? As a software developer, I see the need for both free software and paid software - sometimes your needs as a user are not met well by the free options, and then buying software is appropriate. Most of the software I use is free, but I do use some that I bought (I have also donated bitcoins for free software that I use ). Onkel Paul |
