Now that we've got a Bitcoin restaurant in Puerto Vallarta (http://www.indiagatefood.com/menu/puerto-vallarta-menu-mx/) and are bringing an ATM, the owner decided to start a Bitcoin Meet Up there--he couldn't find an existing one in the city, and intends to run regular events. We are currently looking to assemble a team of trustworthy organizers who can help by writing description pages and translating for us when needed. You may be given beer/tamales for your services. The first event we intend to run is COINFEST 2014: Puerto Vallarta Edition. Stephanie Murphey from Lets Talk Bitcoin will be visiting to mingle with guests and share her experiences in the Bitcoin community. There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Unfortunately, the business partner of our restaurant-owning friend in Vancouver has moved, and the location there no longer accepts, and his Meet Up is inactive. The Mexican Bitcoin community is pretty big, though, including PV--I'm certain you'l find some places if you ask around.

Interesting. Any chance there are links to groups that are currently (2018) interested in blockchain and crypto?
