Background:
OK..cpu mining is NOT dead...  I have several AMD 8 core miners that easily pull in 700-800 kh/s mining QRK clones...

Problem:
Another rig with same CPU only pulls in 400 - 500 kh/s on same pool, same OS, same version minerd

Anyone else have this issue?  Could it be mobo somehow?  MOBO is only hardware diff between rigs....

OS:  Linux Xubuntu 12.04
CPU:  AMD  FX 8350

I got a funky "libcurl.so not found error", but it went away when I installed "libcurl4-openssl-dev"  but otherwise rigs are identical

A couple of things pop in my mind:

1. The mobo underclocks the CPUs too agressively, look at the "Cool'n'Quiet" BIOS setting (it shouldn't though, given the load). Issuing 'lscpu' on a terminal will show you the current MHz.

2. The memory modules might be too slow. Replace them with a couple from a 'fast' rig to see if it makes any difference.
