We will probably reach 13 million BTC in circulation in August 2014;
14 million in May 2015
15 million in January 2016
16 million in September 2016
17 million in
18 million in
19 million in
20 million in
21 million in

{ Imagine a sequence of bits generated from the first decimal place of the square roots of whole integers that are irrational numbers. If the decimal falls between 0 and 5, it's considered bit 0, and if it falls between 5 and 10, it's considered bit 1. This sequence from a simple integer count of contiguous irrationals and their logical decimal expansion of the first decimal place is called the 'main irrational stream.' Our goal is to design a physical and optical computing system system that can detect when this stream starts matching a specific pattern of a given size of bits. bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=166760.0 } Satoshi did use a friend class in C++ and put a comment on the code saying: "This is why people hate C++".

According to Satoshi's post:

Quote

Total circulation will be 21,000,000 coins. It'll be distributed to network nodes when they make blocks, with the amount cut in half every 4 years.

    first 4 years: 10,500,000 coins

    next 4 years: 5,250,000 coins

    next 4 years: 2,625,000 coins

next 4 years: 1,312,500 coins etc...

Your point being?

Just to find out the number of coins in circulation for each million.

I guess the errors in my calculation are because I am using 10 minutes for each block, but it is actually less than that sometimes.

Can anyone come with more accurate numbers?

I believe bitcoin will hit 10,000 and what's stopping it from hitting 100,000 eventually if the whole world starts accepting and using the currency. Obviously some parts can't because of tech issues but I believe it will eventuallly
