I have the premium domain BitStore.com.

It's 10+ years old and it now fits perfectly for Bitcoin.

How do you like it? How much do you think it's worth?

I may start an auction soon.

Update:
As further proof of ownership, BitStore.com is forwarding to this thread.

Please post or PM any offers.

Feel free to post your thoughts about the domain too.

Great Domain!

Bid 0.2 BTC; assuming you can prove ownership and escrow is ok.

Sure you can email me to the address published here:
http://who.is/whois/bitstore.com
and I'll respond from there as proof of ownership.

Of course escrow is OK.

But I'm looking for more than BTC0.2

Decent name (for a change). Domain resale market isn't what it was, and with 1200 new TLD's coming this year, you should sell it ASAP.

As for value, you'd probably be lucky to get 1BTC

Agreed. This is the wrong place to sell a great domain name, unless you want to sell it cheap.

Disagree that you should sell it ASAP...What's the rush? Bitcoin is only beginning. Most of the common-folk of the world don't even know, nor care what Bitcoin or the new gTLDs are Cheesy It'll take many many years, if, and only if, the new gTLDs catch on.

Of course. The easy money in domain names have been gone for years. But, by your standard the same could be said about mining and or even BTC when they were sub double digits. Should people give up mining or BTC trading all together because it became more difficult and the price increased? Of course not. There's still lots of money to be made. The rules of the game changed and its up to you to readjust your strategy to whatever works best for your end game.

Example:

Bitcore.com sold for $3,600 yesterday. Source: public records

Not trying to start a confrontation, just stating facts and recent first-hand experience.

No problem. Domain valuations are very subjective. its a nice name, no dispute. Where did bitcore.com sell? You didn't provide a link, just an underline Wink

Quite a good name and you bought this 10 years ago before Bitcoin existed that's interesting but whats the highest offer you have had?

On a mission to make Bitcointalk.org Marketplace a safer place to Buy/Sell/Trade

Currently the highest offer is in USD. But I'd prefer to sell it for BTC. I prefer not to disclose the value for now.

If I get a good offer, I will sell immediately. Otherwise, I'll start an auction in a few days.

Not so remarkable as it doesn't have bitcoin the domain name, just bit. Still good name though Smiley

Maybe bitcoin... is more search engine friendly than bit... But for branding bit... is better. It's shorter and easier to pronounce while still keeping the Bitcoin idea completely.

And honestly I prefer branding in this case.

I prefer BitStamp, BitPay and BitStore than BitcoinStamp, BitcoinPay or BitcoinStore.

Not arguing with you. Just pointing out it isn't particularly remarkable the domain was regged before bitcoin existed .....

Looking forward to the auction and see what the community thinks of the name. I'm sure it will do well.

Good name and not having coin in the name does not make a bit a difference.  For example BitCasino.com sold for $22,270 last August and as mentioned above look at names like bitpay or bitstamp.

btw - as we have seen in the past despite all the new tld's, .com still remained king.  IMHO the new tlds are not going to make much of a difference.

Yes, that registration in 2003 was a lucky shot lol.

This domain is as good as sold, deal details are ready. I'll let you all know if it fails.
