Budget brands? It's a pretty expensive beer out here. And pretty good, though all those yeasts in weizens are not for every stomach.
Okay, well. It's still better than normal beer. If you buy it in the UK it costs £1.99 (2.42€/Tesco). True. It might be similar in other countries - and usually it's the only "Weizen" that ever gets sold anywhere else. That's triple the price that it's sold for in Germany. Here one of them is around 0,80€. But you misunderstood what I said anyway. I said that there are budget brands that taste the same - not that this is a budget brand. There are some that cost only 0.40€ in Germany that taste better than/the same as Erdinger to me. I like this one, too:

As a Belgian, I need to post My top favorite beer is "Double Palm"! I drink that beer regulary in stead of normal pils. Other great Belgian pils beers are: Regular Palm, Stella Artois, Jupiler, Maes (that order) Some special beers I really like: Vedette, Duvel, La Chouffe Blond, Cuvée du trolles, Tripel Karmeliet, Sint-Palsken, Westvleteren, Maredsous, Orval, Brugse Zot, ... There are just too many beers in Belgium

I think Grolsch is awesome. Stella Artois is ok.

I should probably go to Berlin and stock up someday, it's barely a 2-hour train ride from where I live.

You can find realy cheap beers (for EU standards) in Poland or Slovakia. They rarely cost above 0.8€, most brands are 0.6€.

Oh no, wait. My all-time favorite beer is " Beemster Blond". A home brew beer made in the " Beemster" (The Netherlands). It's, sadly, quite expensive (€2.30).

That isn't that expensive comparing it to other beers but if you buy a few I can see it getting very expensive.

I make my own beer nowadays. We just recently moved to Rural Alaska due to wife's job and beer here is $60 for a pack of Miller and you need a license which costs $100 per year. So I just grabbed one of them MrBeer kits and started to brew my own my which I'd recommend to anyone because it's way better than you average liquor store beer any day.

Always wanted to try that but you need space, time and risk blowing up the bottles. If you live in a smal apartment it might be a problem. Also what about the smell? I visited a brewery once and it smelled like rotten eggs in there
