That line of thinking is going to be a road block if you don't want to lose your mind with mining.

You should be able to get 1.5-2MH/s with a $1500 budget, so maybe a few months.  Maybe a few weeks.  Maybe never.  Who knows for sure?

Play around with a calculator and build a list of parts and see how you can max our you hash rate and hope for the best
