This was posted to the irc channel: http://www.sendspace.com/file/hw8ccuThey said it was maxcoin-cpuminer compiled for Windows. I laughed but then people were saying it was working so I tested it out in a VM and it looks legit. I ran it like this: minerd.exe --algo=keccak --benchmarkand it was getting about 1100 kh/s on my Windows 7 64 bit VM with 1 virtual cpu.

People busting out the old FPGA boards and looking over the cpu miner code getting ready to pump some more life out of the old hardware? should I rock a ModMiner on this coin?

I compiled from source optimized for AVX and get 900 kh/sec per core - it will never find anything, but it's still representative of what it will do against a wallet or pool. I must be a liar too.

maxcoin.hashrapid.com seems to suggest that it is a digibyte clone and will use scrypt for proof of work?

I'm more apt to believe you over someone who had just registered and posted the same thing as his only 2 posts. Sorry...it's late and scammers abound on here lately

It's only been mentioned like half a dozen times in this thread today. I guess some people just don't bother to read. http://www.maxcoin.co.uk/downloads/However people are saying the wallet is a dud file. So wait until tomorrow like the rest of us.

What wallet did you test it with? I didn't use a wallet, I just used the benchmark option. I just uploaded the minderd.exe to virustotal: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/d9e22ef66d35bc7a1bd9b03263ab2f18c2f359bcf502c3071a2bb58da677020d/analysis/1391660585/It has a few bitcoin miner results but nothing that looks bad. Is anyone able to test it for malware or viruses some other way?

I read the source, it should auto-optimize for avx/avx2/xop based on running test instructions during compile.

what is the better and strong pool to will mine it?
I think everyone is going to need to spread out to as many pools as possible. There will be a lot of people, probably way too many for any one pool.
