yet another junk coin what's the point in all this madness why not support a coin that already exists

unless he is just going to pump and dump it

I don't think the newbs who will mine these sort of coins listen to any sort of logic.

Question:
i can see [ECN] eCoin is SHA-3 and can be mined with gpu, what's the diference with MAXcoin?

i think the people needs a really distributed coin, not just for gpu farms owners.
To be popular, you need to pay the people to promote your coin, not just pay to the elite of the miners. Max Keiser can pump your coin, but it will fall fast if the people haven't it distributed.

I asked the same question on twitter:

ps. eCoin was a fork of Copperlark Wink

Very promising in terms of distribution oriented model. Many other crypto-currencies are said to not very well-distributed.

 - Not pre mined.
 - Pre announced.
 - Pushed by a well-known person BEFORE the launch.
 - CPU mine (if it turns out to be genuine fact after launching)

This combination have not been before as far as I know.
Distribution matters! This is going to be huge!

Nice in time announcement, even more looks like a fair launch! Much better then the recent influx of premined copycats.

Tl;dr - SHA-3 coin. Launches 7.30PM GMT on Wednesday 5th February 2014. More info to be seeded out via @MaxCoinProject. Not a fork of dogecoin.

And the botnets will be there with bells on. Nice work d-bags. I guess crime does pay..

SHA-3 runs very well on hardware. If this coin gets popular there will be ASICs for it. For now, only botnets will have a chance at mining (average Joe say bye-bye to maxcoin). Why not call it crookcoin?? The perfect coin for botnet owners and asic farms (crooks).

Scrypt / scrypt-jane would have been a better choice. Maybe even multimining scrypt or something. Bah. Crapcoin. Sucks.

Yeah, i don't believe anyone is really interrested in these arrogant pricks. Max Keiser is just an asshole who wants to profiteer from his "famous" position. All these kids did was implement sha-3 and change a couple of numbers. It's just a fucking clone, but because it is backed by Max Keiser it suddenly is revolutionairy. I'm not saying that this is bad, but keep the fucking poles down, it's not that exciting. And really if you think you come onto the market saying: "forget everything, max coin is here now.", you're just an arrogant asshole. Show result before you say shit like that. Especially when you're launched fucking failed on live tv.

This is stupid. SHA 3 has no advantages over Sha 2.  SHA 3 can be implemented even easier (with faster hash rate) in hardware.

because its a new algo to try and break away from the current scrypt clone coins, once the asic's come out , those that have invested in gpu's have giant power hungry paper weights, and the average joe wont make any coin.. only the people who buy asic's in bulk, run the diff to the max will make coin.

I for one ... say fuck you , to anyone that buys an asic scrypt miner.. and I welcome a new algo coin... tho just being CPU, I am concerned about bot farms whoring all the coin at first.

Only mafia people with huge botnets will make profit from maxcoins...

Excellent coin, very good job guys. I can't wait for this.

Just a suggestion, i know you're busy with the feature set, but i'd like to suggest a "built in" solo & pool miner into the wallet, since maxcoin aims to be user friendly i think this is a great feature for the masses who don't know how to setup cpuminer. MemoryCoin wallet is a good example of newbie friendly mining.

So what's best? Starting with solo mine or starting to join a pool?

Depends on your hashrate and the pool hashrate.

Could you elaborate? It would be nice to get some examples and a comparison with explanation.
