I dont think it was directly correlated. And his advices has been on the long term basis, just as on the Bitcoin.

lol look at all the miners with asic or gpu rigs hating on this coin cos they can't have the same total advantage they usually have with other copycats.
when there's a new scrypt or sh256 copycat coin they are always happy, as long asthey can get the lionshare of them, but now suddenly they act concerned about innovation.
but yet when there are  coins with real innovation (like NXT or ethereum)  they attack them cos they are more investor games than miners games.
i personally don't believe in PoW coins (mining is just a wasteful enterprise imo) but I'll be mining this one cos somehow is more fair....although if it ever became popular i'm sure asic miners could be made for it (i think the only PoW immune to asic is prime mining like in XPM)

Ah... thanks for that info... so to get this straight... the failed/aborted message is part of the creation process and does not mean that the actual launch of the coin failed and was aborted.

Since you mined the Genesis Block live on the air, what proof do we have that you or even Max Keiser are not pre-mining the shit out of MaxCoin this moment?  Do you have a block explorer online so that we can keep an eye on the blockchain and make sure you are actually honest?  This launch is not transparent. You are behaving in a shady and un-trustworthy fashion. And your glaring arrogance and failure to address this community in a humble and forthright manner leads me to believe that you can in no way be trusted.

The Keiser report 'live' launch failed... Did anyone notice the major boo boo during the 'Live' 'Maxcoin' Launch?

After the big build up announcing they were going to launch the coin live on air and record the actual moment that the MAXCOIN genesis block was created... the camera man zoomed in over the shoulder of the guy who was at the controls to catch the computer screen in close-up (see screen grab below)... and instead of the genesis block being created the Message on screen clearly stated:

So the Genesis Block was never actually created on the show... so no pre-mining is currently being done as suggested above... these guys are trying their best to create a level playing field for everyone... but has the botnet issue been addressed yet?

The press this will get (duh) and the connections that Max has (duh again) will make this a valuable and usable alt. in short order quickly eclipsing all other alts.
