I use MSI afterburner personally but u can use Catalyst that comes with the card

Also try scaling up the intensity slowly to see where ur sweet spot is.

Aha...the Catalyst Control Center does not show a temperature, but the command

# aticonfig --odgt

shows

Default Adapter - AMD Radeon R7 200 Series
                  Sensor 0: Temperature - 72.00 C

Jeepers, that's...161 F.  Should I be worried?

How do I increase the fan speed?

Wallet guide for windows:

Downloaded wallet from : http://maxcoin.co.uk/
Made a config file: C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Roaming\MaxCoin named: maxcoin.conf

Config file content:
Quote
# Seed nodes
addnode=maxexplorer.cloudapp.net
addnode=maxcoin.cloudapp.net
addnode=maxcoinus.cloudapp.net
addnode=maxcoinasia.cloudapp.net
addnode=213.179.202.19
addnode=wombat.dar.sh

# Enable RPC
server=1

# RPC information
rpcuser=maxcoinrpc
rpcpassword=supersecurepassword

Now to wallet directory pressed run.cmd and writed: maxcoind (for faster results, waited 10-15min, then closed) now type: maxcoin-qt.exe -c maxcoin.conf

If anybody found it helpful, would appreciate MAX: mZ9ZdMMxW4iJnKkKyYuGSqqmVdUx7Qfuu1 thank you.

I figured it out. Took a long time searching. http://www.reddit.com/r/maxcoinproject/comments/1xd9l8/question_about_gpu_mining_with_cgminer/

there is a batch file: max1gh_start.bat edit that and then run that batch file, and wait (takes mine a little while to get up and running) i was trying to do it with the .exe directly, and making .conf files, but the .BAT file is all you need (they shoulda threw in a README)

Same problem here, try increasing fan speed manually by starting AMDOverdriveCtrl

AMDOverdriveCtrl (on Command Line)

You can also use MSI Afterburner.
Works for both ATI and Nvidia cards.

There you can manually set fans, and have nice graphs for temps, voltages, GPU usage, etc...

if running cgminer on linux and over terminal, don't forget "export DISPLAY=:0" sometimes no temps are found for cgminer, this should help.

I am indeed running cgminer on linux and over terminal, but am not seeing temperatures in the cgminer display.  However, I found one reference saying that the r7 260X is OK running all day at 78 C, so running at 71-72 should not hurt it.

If you have SMOS or bamt, you need do copy ADL_SDK directory contents from /opt/miners/cgminer/ADL_SDK/ to maxcoin miner ADL_SDK directory, then re-compile.
