Hello all.

BOINC is a group of projects where you donate your computer resources for science. Gridcoin is cryptocurrency for rewarding BOINC calculations. Currently gridcoin rewarding CPU and GPU projects.

Also gridcoin is ASIC-resistant, because BOINC tasks is not uniform. And science community appreciate if you invent ASICs for protein folding, physics simulation or math.

As you may know, there is only one gridcoin pool exists - grcpool.com. But now this is not true.

I wrote new pool for gridcoin mining. This pool send same rewards as grcpool.com (i.e. without fees). But it uses different code.

If you were interested, here is URL: https://grc.arikado.ru/

Register (you should have valid gridcoin reward address, exchange address allowed too), attach as account manager in BOINC manager, attach to projects, sync, sync one more time after five minutes, check that projects attached correctly on the site and wait for rewards.

Rewards are sent when pool receive DPoR block (from 2 to 5 days).

If you want to change pool, you should detach from previous pool (in BOINC manager Tools -> Stop using), remove previous pool projects, register and attach to new pool, then receive projects from new pool. It is necessary, because otherwise you will still receive rewards from previous pool.

Please note, when you changing pool your rewards will fade in your old pool, and rise in new pool. It takes time.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

In gridcoin you receive rewards for BOINC projects when your coins stake. Most people recommend having at least 2000 Gridcoin to stake within 6 months. So, if you haven't got a lot of Gridcoin and aren't planning on putting money into it you can use one of the pools instead.

Each whitelisted project rewarded with equal amount of coins. Rewards distributed between members of Gridcoin team in BOINC in accordance with contribution.

When reward received (when pool's wallet stakes), it distributed between all projects using pool proportion (see Pool stats page). Each project's reward distributed between contributors in accordance with contribution. Then rewards sent.
