I just came across this 2014 thread which was revived yesterday by a spam bot or shitposter, then followed by shitposter after shitposter. I expect more to come.
Please lock the thread before it gets big Smiley; I am sure that the original poster doesn't need those answers anymore.

Edit: then you can also delete this thread.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Lol... there are some posts which do not seem to be bot by the way. They genuinely posted...

Want to start getting into buying, selling, and purchasing with cryptocurrencies and I want to go in head first!

I used to think cryptsy was a good place to buy alts but all I see are complaint after complaint about there slow transactions. So what about mintpal and bter how are they?
These are all not a trusted exchanges so better you should choose the promising exchanges then only it will easy to buying and selling your altcoin and main thing is good altcoins only listed in all the exchanges so you should pick positive coin it will always listed in Binance or Bittrex these two exchanges are top position in trading platform.

Try on mercury drugstore! They always says on their commercial that all their product is new!!!

-by the way its a joke!

-try to have your own portfolio it shows which coins is currently pumping and which exchange has the best choice for it.

I primarily use Binance and Bittrex for the coins they list and both exchanges have worked well for me. Apart from these two, EtherDelta/ForkDelta for new ERC 20 tokens since they're generally the first exchange to list new tokens.

My question is: Don't they even bother to see the long back date of the original post? One of them is a Hero Member LOL

Be happy be at peace. Looking forward to BTC at $1M

No, they don’t. The first nowadays commenter has quite likely googled: “Best place to buy alts” or “Best place to buy alts bitcointalk” and has found the thread, commenting just after without giving a **** about the date. The others just follow.

This has been asked a few times ago (in general, not this specific topic):

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3462180.0
or here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3952738.0 etc...
but no joy still...

I would prefer to lock any topic after a week of inactivity, and if there's someone who wants to post something serious (not just a oneliner spam), can click on a dedicated button, post a reply, but first the mods should review the post if the quality is OK to reopen the topic to include that post.
After the one week period restarts and the topic is locked again if the conversation ends.
But I'm afraid this won't happen, so anyone can continue to necropost...

A week might be too fast, but I like this idea.

The former part is nice, but the latter, not so much. Mods don't have time to handle reports ,if it comes to a situation like this, things will slip out of hand, mods are assigned their jobs for moderating the boards and not for approving posts.

We can't expect the forum to be totally against spam, that would be impossible. If people are just spamming for bounties, things are already taken care of then: Merit. DT members(if spammers are caught cheating). And the Timelord2067 squad. Wink

If people are spamming for some other reason, like getting paid for bumping ANN threads, spread fake reputation and all that crap, there is patrol Loyce V to monitor that.

??  What makes it impossible?  With a nice mod/user ratio, a forum can be filled with useful posts and no garbage spam.  Smiley

I might agree if this was just a normal forum but the promise of free money and the excitement that cryptocurrencies bring I don't think we'll ever have a clean forum. There is way too much traffic and users who are willing to cheat certain systems like the bounties to have any where near a clean forum no matter how many mods we have.

Uh.. There aren't sufficient mods for moderating, there are boards without any mods,so global mods to handle that too and this is excess burden on them, also mods are also people, hence they have things to take care of IRL. The situation should have never rose in the first place, those who want to help these sections, can keep reporting the garbage posts/threads,and keep hoping that the mods are taking care of them.

So you're coming after him because he tagged you? Nice.

Big thank you to the mods for acting on this.

Also I'm surprised about all the discussion in this thread, however, I'll lock it now and I'll also try to move it to archive.
