Just ordered me 2 of these boards for another set of x6 270 rigs. Very awesome to see such results.
However, the one thing you did not mention (or perhaps i missed) was the exact driver revision you guys used in Win8.1. I would assume latest Betas or 13.12s, but would like confirmation.

There's a guy in Taiwan selling it. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=393218.0But you have to wait until after Chinese New Year. I got some risers from the guy.

What are you using for settings to get 490 out of a 270? I'm getting up to 450, which surprised me, but I'd be happy with another 40 ea.

But I'm manually overriding the temps and fans for now and set them to 50% - 60%. Dabs Rig with 2 GPUs plugged directly to motherboard and cooling solution. Stats display on sgminer I'm waiting for my risers so I can start with all the other GPUs.

Bittydude, wrt to running on one PSU - you can, if you can find one large enough. That's the tricky bit Anything over about 1500W is very hard to find. Not to mention seriously expensive. Rit.

Well I couldn't get any of my 270 non-x cards stable with those settings, but I did work them up to 470kh each with i 19, engine 1100 and memclock 1450
Rigs were crashing if I tried anything higher, intensity or the clock settings....
That's with powercolor r9-270 cards, I'm happy enough with them to use them instead of paying more for 270x cards if they stay stable long term at 470. They use much less power and only have one pci-e power connector to deal with wiring up.

Mine are Sapphire 270 (not X). I may have to slow down my settings a bit to make it more stable, but it looks stable to me, having run it like that for the past 2 to 3 days.
Also, I'm on Litecoin BAMT 1.3, not Windows.
A local supplier says he got a few of those motherboards on order, so I reserved two. Let's see if they get it.

I'm not using windows either. I still can't get these cards to be stable at such high settings. They get sick or crash every few hours. Back down to 430 a card for now until I find a better way. I have a bunch of these pro btc boards on the way, retail prices, I hope they work fine with 6 cards each.

What's the consensus on whether powered risers are needed or not with the H81 Pro BTC motherboard? Seen a lot of posts saying they are not needed while I've seen other posts still saying they are needed.

This video is excellent, except his rant regarding the MB being Intel based and fanboys and all that.
The core issue is coin mining, not marketing, fanboyism or other drama. What matters is performance/cost and if the hardware works. One uses components that suck less and get less in the way of mining. Intel based allows one to use a Intel CPU with integrated video which stays completely out of the way of mining and the videocard that is plugged on the PCI-e 16x slot.

I am seeing ATI driver crashes with a single 7990 on this board. If I even put a moderate amount of load, it crashes. Anyone else seeing this? I'm wondering if its the board or something else? This is driving me a little crazy.

People keep asking this, but the main thing to consider is that with the usb risers you can put the gpu cards far away from the motherboard, which allows for much better use of space and cooling options.

Is it true that USB risers are only working if they are powered?
