Due to some Bitcoins submitted to MTGox that didn't show up in my account i noticed two things:

First one is a tipp for all users, second a serious reliability indicator of mtgox.
1) If you ask for support you need a second account - maybe this is run by a different company, but at least stored in a different database. So its a good thing not to EVER enter your mtgox password there, even when trying to login. Having your password known at two locations, maybe two companies, two websites compromises your security - so don't. Just don't. If you once failed, immediately change your compromised password.

2) I used mtgox for some time, so i noticed that the Bitcoin deposit adress for the account changes after every deposit. I don't know why though. However one time i accidently used the previous Bitcoin deposit adress. So i inquired at support, if that means they are lost, or still can be found - after all they should be at mtgox.

And here comes the strange thing: By now, this is 5 days since.
Has anyone any experience with mtgox support request or even my kind of failure ?

I am wondering how long it usually takes them to respond, if they even ever respond to requests, or if they still are overwhelmed by the bitcoin rush, trying hard to even keep up their service reliably.

Has anyone experience ?

I have two Mtgox withdrawals from over 40 hours ago that have not yet hit the blockchain. I opened a support ticket over 24 hours ago and they haven't even looked at it.

Stay away from Gox - do some research before choosing an exchange   Wink

well -with me it's now 6 days, and it says "Awaiting assignment to a support agent".

Let me know, when your support request is handled. Anyone else got experiences with mtgox support requests?

Just 2 and a half days waiting for them to respond to about 8 requests for help. Meanwhile my BTC sits in their broken basket.

MTGOX is terrible. You really should switch to BTC-E.

Wish you the best of luck getting your coin outta there!

mtgox just replied my support request. All ok - looks like the coins arrived at my account by now - even with correct date - however i could swear i never saw them there on the day i transfered the bitcoins. Whatever, they're here now - so except of the recent trouble mentioned in another thread that transfering BTC away from mtgox is currently not possible it's all fine.

However, by the time, bitcoins give me the creeps. I would welcome some mandatory rules for capital/investment security. Things that are quite common by international laws, just only for tradidional capital transfers and investments.

So i now see also some disadvantages of Bitcoins, i.e. also the lack of cancelling/undoing a transaction within a short time-frame. If you had a typo and accidently put a "0" too much - oops, 10 times the money gone immediately. Even if you find out a second later.

It's an excellent system, one that requires personal responsibility and personal vetting of whom you are dealing.
