Fake give away offerOnce I check bittrex Edited : 05/07/2018 Scammers never stop..once I visit today then again I saw same msg below: Stay away from this kind of msg. They pure scammers.
tweet, I have seen below reply There is 5000 ETH give away offer. They will ask you to send eth and they will offer you 10X return. Lol.... This not bittrex official Twitter account. Check the spelling they used (Blittrex) instead of Bittrex. This is a pure scam. Don't send any eth if you see this kind of reply. I have seen almost they make same reply on many exchange's official tweets. Stay away from this kind of msg. They just make their own fake script. Once you click their link you will see many fake transaction. They will provide a eth address to send eth. And on their script you will see people getting 10X Eth what they send to them. It's totally fake. There are not any kind of offer like that from any exchange. So be careful & save your money. Don't click their link.
Wean stay away from them in few ways. Please see below: 1. Need to check their spelling and spelling of original poster 2. Need to check date of creation. Spammer accounts is newer than the original one. (Maximum time, though there might have exception) 3. Need to check followers: spammers followers will be low. 4. Following: Spammers following will be more than follower. (Maximum time, though there might have exception) 5. Twitter audit: Maximum of their followers are fake.

It didn't happen to bittrex twitter account only, look at the name of Vitalik Butterin on his twitter account.
"Vitalik "Not giving away ETH" Buterin" these scammers are too desperate. Giveaways should be free for real, you don't have to send any amount before receiving the reward and it's obvious that "BITTREX isn't "BLITTREX.

Actually this has been going on for a long time now and I think every exchange have those giveaway scams on their posts. It's a low-grade scam really, as it is plain obvious that those are fake accounts. - You could tell from the misspellings
- You could tell from the followers
- You could tell from the blue tick badge (most official accounts have em)
- You could tell from the content-- that it's suspicious/red flag

Definitely not a new scam. This has been happening for months already. What's painful is that people actually fell for that extremely obvious scam; and guess what? People are still falling for them! Kinda mind-baffling in my opinion. Good job on sharing though, would hopefully inform a few uninformed people here.
And yea, it's not Bittrex's reply. Read the twitter handle: BlitrexExchange

People have discovered this practice of scamming since the phishing websites started to hit the market before a few years. They just make a same kind of account with only a small difference claiming to be the original and loot money from the innocent, and people being totally profit-blind literally send money to them without any research and without even properly checking the accounts or sites in some cases. Someone should know that these are very big lies by seeing the amounts they promise to give in return.

Reported. Everyone should be reporting these accounts on sight. Information campaigns can only go so far, it would seem, as it doesn't look like they ever run out of victims despite all the warnings everywhere. Let's all do our part to make sure these accounts don't see the light of day as soon as they pop out.

Some people use/hack twitter verified accounts, change the username, and ask to send gifts. One of the most famous scams happens to @binance. Read this Pinned Tweet Binance will never ask you to send coins directly to any address for any reason. It is better not to send money to any address even it was verified and check the name several times."No one gives you money for free"

Yes you are right. They have reply most of exchange typically. May be newbie are not aware about that. This post might be help them. Most of the victims are newbies and they should be cautious on how these exchanges are too generous spread giveaways. Just don't send money if they are asking you to send.

Hi ,
Thanks for inform. yeah these days most of scams in the crypto world. How we identify this is scam or not?
It's absolutely scam. No any exchange are giving you like that offer. Any how , if you want to check practical then click their link. You will see many transaction are ongoing on their fake script. You can see they will provide you an eth address to send eth. Just copy that address. Then go to www.etherscan.io and search this address. On result you can see real time transaction. Hope now you will know their details. How much balance they have or how going transaction.

For any sane person, sending your ETH to an address and getting a 10X return is impossible. Don't be fooled by the liar's rhetoric. It's not so easy to make money.I think that for a newbie, whenever you face a so-called high return, you need to remind yourself "Is this possible?"
