I would say a long time, mostly because they will not be given a choice. The truth appears to be between those two lines. It certainly is more then just a few % that the gov says it is. But other things have really dropped in price here. In the 80's a nice casual shirt was $30, now in cheaper dollars $15 is not hard to come by. Eating out is cheaper. Electronics are way down. Cars, gas, healthcare and services are way up.
