I joined bitcointalk for almost years and i've invite one of this friend to join last year

He work hard on the crypto scene, learn and we share knowledge together. Then i told him about the bounty program and he is now a full member
Now he has enough post, but lack of around 140 merits, can i give him 140 merits without any problem?

Or there's a requirement that he shall do something or etc in order for me to vouch him with merits?

Thanks and regards
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

No. You shouldn't be giving merits away unless they deserve it. Giving merits just so your friend/schoolmate/auntie/neighbour can rank up defeats the purpose of merit.

I take it 'waynechong1995' is your "friend".

Of course, no. Merit is not introduced for buddies rather it has been introduced for ensuring quality posts.

I encourage people to give merit to posts that are objectively high-quality, not just posts that you agree with.
It is clear that why merit system has been introduced.

However, if your friends can make quality posts and he deserves merit, you can give but not such amount. It will be suspecting and you will get neg trust on your profile.

I think " waynechong1995" is you friend. You have already gave 11 merit to one post and got back 6 merit. Smerit is your asset in my opinion,SO you are free to give anyone. But if you want to become serious or responsible member of this forum, then you should keep some points in your mind at the time of giving merit.....

1. Don't think post creator is your friend or not...
2. Post quality should be good....
3. Information should be useful.......
4. Language should be good......
5. Don't trade the merit...

THIS IS LINK OF TMAN'S guide to getting merit https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3182178.0

If any post fullfill all these requirement, then you are free to give merit irrespective of relationship.

I think it is sad that a Hero members even thinks of asking a question like this. Merit has been discussed in so many threads, and on so many boards, that that the answer should be obvious.

Alright, thanks for all the help
I didn't really go through it even after it was released because i thought its some extra feature until recently i only realize that ranking up requires Smerit lul  Tongue
It's kind of dilemma for me to make the decision

In the aspect of friend perhaps i could help him but for the sake for a better forum environment, guess i will only vouch out of quality post
Thanks guys

Regards
