1. NobleCoin
2. DogeCoin
3. EearthCoin
4. WorldCoin
5. MegaCoin

These coins all have something going for them that the others miss. Especially NobleCoin, it is highly undervalued at the moment. It's supporting several charities, raising 1620 dollar (end goal 5000) within a week for the water project!

1 - Litecoin - strong network, growing community, fast & secure, growing network
2 - Quark - interesting change in mining and distribution, low cost to maintain price, 6 algorithms for more security, More asic resistant, fast & secure, community growing, interesting how much it gets attacked
3 - Peercoin - POS, strong network
4 - Namecoin - love the DNS functionality, strong network
...

BTC = Black Swan.
BTC = Antifragile - "Some things benefit from shocks; they thrive and grow when exposed to volatility, randomness, disorder, and stressors and love adventure, risk, and uncertainty. Robust is not the opposite of fragile.

My favorite:

1. Franko       (FRK)   (30s block, quite fast and the number of coins is quite low)
2. Fastcoin    (FST)    (Very fast, the first one aiming real time transaction)
3. Bbqcoin     (BBQ)   (old and reliable)
4. junkcoin    (JKC)    (A good one, still strong today)
5. worldcoin (WDC) (A strong alternate too)

All these cryptocurrencies are using scrypt. This is the best choice, as an efficient ASIC implementation is impracticable to have, and from a silicon company point of view, investing in a specialized scrypt chip will not offer any sufficient computing power gain to be interesting. So, scrypt is a very good hashing function, most of the other ones don't achieve this goal.

LTC, PPC, QRK, NXT & WDC. Which of the newer coins can come closer to this company is what I am looking forward to finding out this winter/spring.Those backed more by the comunitiy more than Tech&Specs seem to be doing best so far, but we will see in the end Wink

Infinitecoin (IFC)
Great community and a lot of new projects in the pipeline. One of the highest ROI coin in the past month. Great Investment.

Litecoin (LTC)
Looks still undervalued. Always rises more than Bitcoin. When bitcoin rose to 1200$ (6x returns from 200$), litecoin rose to about 40$ (20x returns from 2$)

Bitcoin (BTC)
This is still by far the most accepted coin. "Safest bet"

Other than these 3 I dont think jokes like dogs and cats and moons will go anywhere in the long run!

Quark is dead, please don't buy it anymore.

That's funny. Come at my investments bra, they're all solid!

Quark is the 4th most active reddit coin - behind BTC, LTC, and Doge
Quark has a foundation constantly funding infrastructure projects - http://www.quarkfoundation.cc/projects/
Quark has an active dev who can be reached at any time

And it has a good marketing push with many videos/infographics/media connections (Still, Keiser) -

@Galbros - Certainly no instamine scam. Originally, people were saying it was premined but this was completely disproven by the Announcement thread on here (posted the same day as the genesis block was mined). Then came the instamine 'scam' concept which is interesting and harder to disprove. But, if you are seriously considering a large investment, I can show you why it is unlikely that Quark's mining process led to an unfair distribution. If you look at Cryptsy's volume from launch until it shot up in price, miners were dumping the coin continuously for near nothing into the hands of many investors. Now, it is still a cheap coin.

I'm not saying make it your sole investment as many others do, but it should be a third of your portfolio. I often recommend BTC 40%, LTC 30%, and QRK 30%. BTC and LTC are somewhat safe, while QRK is a high reward/high risk coin that I believe in!

Quark kinda was a instamine. I mined quark 3 weeks after launch and i got a shit ton. I also SOLD 4/5 of it 5 weeks before the big quark boom. FML

100% agree! NXT is a future. It's complete, radical difference between NXT and large number of other coins which in some point looks all the same.

My favorite are coins available for month now, and having good features. These coins will be still there, most of new coins added in the last weeks will have the same future?

1. FST fastcoin         - 12s blocks, the fastest, quite challenging.
2. MEC megacoin   - Is still there with solid value.
3. FLO florincoin      - featuring transaction comments.
3. DBL doubloons    - funny.
4. FRK franko           - above $1 for a very long time now
5  BBQ bbqcoin        - available for age now.

Scrypt is definitively today the right hashing function.

Noblecoin is a fantastic coin with an active developer team and a great community. They've got multiple charities accepting donations in Noblecoin and also have a bunch of merchants online. This is definitely one of the ones to stay around.

mah87 sors de ce corps  Undecided

Are you spying me ??

I'm gonna explain once for all why Nxt is superior to Bitcoin.

People are irrational. For them, 1 Bitcoin is 1 Bitcoin but under 1 Bitcoin, it's nothing.
If they cannot count it with their fingers, that doesn't mean anything, that doesn't exit.

Here is a simple example for you to understand :

- Hello, a double-cheese-burger.
- 0.00242694883 BTC please.
- ?? ?? ?? ?

The same with Nxt :
- Hello, a double-cheese-burger.
- 30 Nxt please.
- Here is.
- Enjoy your meal sir.

I agree with you on NXT being superior, but the decimal argument just does not hold ground. It's just decimals, the comma can be moved etc. That cheese burger cost roughly 2,43 mBTC.

That is the thing - it is a great experiment in an alternative distribution model. I got in at just above todays prices, actually like 30% but I like the idea of something different here with distribution.
Hopefully more people sell at these levels then we can start a good ascent and test that network (considering the mining power is now down a bit.)

The Bitcoin price and decimals is a real problem. It's been 4 years we are talking about it but nothing has been done to solve the problem.
