It's a straight Bitcoin clone, specifically to promote the Free State Project in New Hampshire.  This isn't a coin meant to be the next pump and dump.  For what we needed, Coingen saved us a ton of work and time for a decent price.

If its just a straight clone then why should anyone use it? Why not just use bitcoin that is already established and accepted by a lot of companies rather than your Free State clone-coin that offers nothing new and isn't of value anywhere?

From your page: "Will the Free State Project find a use for this coin? That is to be determined, but we feel the FSP is important enough to have its own coin." I think it is fair to say you're the only one that thinks that.

Exactly FoBot. Over 1,500 movers in NH already, and over 15,000 signers.  We have a very active bitcoin economy. Bitcoin is changing the world and it's amazing.

Having only a total of 200,000 FSP ever and a block reward of only 5 FSP.  A limited supply in a niche market.  Theorizing that it can be a way to possibly create a "local" digital currency.  The idea and whole point of all of this is "why not", not "why??".

We were just talking about this here at the New Hampshire Liberty Forum as a way to raise funds and awareness for the FSP.  However, you would think that there'd be some pre-mine given to the FSP (or at least its Board members of FSP movers) to justify doing this.  I would gladly support it if there were a viable way to help the project out.  The FSP certainly has more than enough people to create the Network Effect and get them accepted far and wide.

For extra functionality, build something in where people can send encrypted messages to other people, or that allows locked coins, colored coins, or some other functionality that is worth trying out.  Build some features in similar to Namecoin, or offer some resistance to currency volatility by reducing the block reward until demand catches up.  And use CPU mining, rather than ASIC-centric SHA256.

I'd love to work on a project like this, but I would need to see how the effort is actually going to help the FSP--rather than those ASIC mining firms that are already doing great financially.
