An internal system of Block-one, the parent company behind the groundbreaking EOS initial coin offering (ICO) has been breached, and investors may have lost millions. The ruse was first reported by Fortune magazine.

The EOS ICO concludes this evening, on track to raise more than $4 billion, or more than double the previous record-holder. But scam artists have invoked an old trick, sending out an email that spoofs the EOS website. All you have to do is send them your private key and a portion of the remaining EOS tokens will purportedly be sent your way.

The key is the web site that the unwary are being directed toward – the scam site is eos.com. The real site is eos.io. So anyone putting their private key into the bad site will soon find their account drained.

As if that weren’t bad enough, the hackers managed to breach the Block.one email system operated by Zendesk. They then managed to respond to inquiries and send people to the scam site.

_____

WARNING:
Recently another type of scam has emerged in the ICO sector but this time on the side of society itself that is defrauding by'm called ICO expert.
One of the best-known and most active scammer is the scam Matyas Zaborszky.
Indeed, SCAM Matyas Zaborszky has already scammed dozens of companies by charging them large sums for so-called marketing campaign that he never does.
Often he blackmails, request an additional payment of 2 BTC otherwise he will do bashing, bad publicity on the company in question, by distributing articles with false information.
His techniques are very well honed and thanks to a team of accomplice, scam Matyas Zaborszky very often are scammed.
If you are also a victim of crook Matyas Zaborszky, an email has been set up, you can write to matyaszaborszkyscam@tuta.io

If true then it is serious question on email server security.
But EOS ICO investors are really stupid to send their private keys? Everybody is taught that they are not supposed to share private keys.
Since EOS is a token and somebody shared the private key then it will result in loss of all the tokens in wallet not only EOS.

That's why its lame that people invest in any investment platform without any enough knowledge how crypto totally works, these victims are those idiot investors that don't know what's the totally meaning of private key, like who does will give their private keys or should I say their money to someone they don't even know in the first place if they aren't idiots.
This is not the first time it happens and not even will last.

i dont understand what you say sir, but what i read on your post was you are the scammer right, your bitcointalk username also weird, have a scam on your last name.
And especially, I don't know why a user like this is here in this forum.

Well, it's been 5 months now. And do you really think that EOS is scum?
Over the past 24 hours, its price has increased by 15%. I bought EOS on May 30 to 0.00160, and today I sold 0.00185. And high price was almost 0,00200 today, and it is growing!

Are you sure, this looks like a very serious situation. Do you have any proof of this EOS "hack"? There are rumors that the code is much less than perfect anyway and I am not in.

There were changes in the system and people lost their vigilance. After all, there are a lot of impatient people who want to do everything quickly and don't want to think, look and analyze. That's what I learned from the cryptocurrency - not need to hurry. In everyday life, I'm an extrovert, I quickly do everything, active.
But here I try to be judicious.
You received the letter. OK, read it. If you have suspicions, then go to the telegram chat and ask "Was there a mail?" "What news?" etc. It is not difficult.
