Writing or Laughing at so called "nocoiners" (socialists, lawyers MBA economists) in new york times square will not just get the bitcoin even more unpopular as it will be seen by many as arrogant. it will create more and more cryptocurrencies, cryptocurrency indexes and so on. it will be more and more be question why the energywasting bitcoinsect itself had legitimacy to out of audacity take the first move of creating something and calling it decentral money, bitcoin will sooner or later dissappear in the conflict that many of its arrogant owners are sparking. the main issue is that bitcoins initial support came much less from its appeareance but much more from the unsatisfaction with the national banking cartels, as they were causing poverty. bitcoin marketing moved from we are a good solution against the established unefficient banking cartel towards: Bitcoin is King of all Coins. just look what vitalik said: reagards

It's a huge exaggeration that it will somehow kill Bitcoin or cause any significant damage to its reputation, but I agree that it's a negative tendency and people should avoid it. It's okay to call out ignorant Bitcoin critics who use false arguments, but "nocoiner" is a poor term, since it's so easily misunderstood as shaming for not owning Bitcoin. Maybe it's better to call them "anti-coiners" or come up with some other name for them, to stress out that they don't understand Bitcoin and hate it for some wrong reasons.

It's Economists, MBA Economists. What you wrote literally means Master's of Business Administration business administrators. will not just get the bitcoin even more unpopular as it will be seen by many as arrogant.

How can Nocoiner signs make bitcoin unpopular AND create more cryptocurrenices? Those two things oppose each other. Majority of people already don't care about bitcoin, so people making flyers about it doesn't make change the prevailing winds. Let people talk shit. Let them do what they do. Let them be the people who in 20+ years say "at the time, people thought it was crazy...turned out to be an incredibly wise investment."

there are always idiots around. idiots who make dumb advertisements like that and idiots who think these things can kill bitcoin. will not just get the bitcoin even more unpopular as it will be seen by many as arrogant.
someone who doesn't have the brain to understand the difference between bitcoin and the person making that sign should really stay away from bitcoin and if you say they will then that much better. it will create more and more cryptocurrencies, cryptocurrency indexes and so on.
a lot of shitcoins are being created already, they are not waiting for a sign to start doing so. they are doing it to make money by pump and dumping that shitcoin. energywasting bitcoinsect
another dumb statement which was argued to death and yet it is repeated as the new FUDitself had legitimacy to out of audacity take the first move of creating something and calling it decentral money,
because it is a decentralized currency. if you don't like it nobody is forcing you to use it. you know where the door is. bitcoin will sooner or later dissappear in the conflict that many of its arrogant owners are sparking.
there is no conflict, only idiots arguing with each other while bitcoin is doing what it has always been doing and growing more and a being adopted more and becoming stronger every day. and shitcoins are the ones that are disappearing....

I think this is nothing but a negative publicity. But as per usual, negative publicity is still publicity. Putting up a nocoiner will only expose bitcoin to people who doesnt even know it exist. So let them put it up and then let's enjoy profits later. I don't think it won't give any negative effects on bitcoin, instead it will spread it.

I really don't get what the intention was with this advertisement. It's just implies that the advertisers are mocking the people who doesn't have bitcoin. They don't want to use it/invest in it, so? Let them be. There's enough hate in this world like what the hell. It just gives us a bad rap. Now people are going to think that crypto investors are a bunch of crybabies.

hate? it is not insulting people. in fact the term is vague at best. this term did not even exist 7 months ago! as a matter of fact the term "nocoiner" was invented recently (about 6 months ago LOL) and if anything this picture is just advertising this newly created word. what does it mean? someone who doesn't have bitcoin. who will be offended by this?

It doesn't look good ,but it's just advertisement, I think Bitcoin will be more popular if someone advertise it like that, but it will create negative label on Bitcoin, and to be honest I don't understand the purpose of the ads, I think it's the attempt to weaken Bitcoin, but this is a free world, I don't care what people write, as long as we used crypto with good intentions then one day people will change their mind about bitcoin

I definitely think that no one would be offended or insulted by this, but it seems like that that was the intention of the advertiser (unless they say so otherwise); to sort of insult the people in to them actually buying bitcoin. It's an attempt at best, as I definitely couldn't think of a reason to make such an advertisement. Also knowing that you'd actually have to spend good amounts of money to get an advertisement at that location. Juuuuuust my opinion.

The stupidest part of the sign is that bitcoin isn't meant to be held. Its simply meant to be used as a digital financial instrument to make money liquid. Cash in, cash out. Just imagine how much money people had lost if they bought in on Jan 1st and held till now.
It was never meant to be an investment, and that's not a matter of opinion. The people who made these signs just prove how there is absolutely no correlation between wealth and intelligence.

Not to mention that this was an advertisement from an exchange i honestly can't belive that such things exist as they are trying to gain customers by saying you will get rich quick, this sound like a scam. Plus all the ads out there from various ico people can get a feeling that this is all to milk his money and from the first agenda we are moving to scamming people and presenting this as a shady thing.

Controversy is also good advertising and when people see signs like that, then they might think.." Damn, I never knew Bitcoin was that popular, maybe I must buy some " - The keeping up with the Joneses reaction kicks in and the next thing you know, everyone is buying Bitcoin again.
Some people might even have thought that Bitcoin was a fad and when they see this, they will say "Oh, Bitcoin is still a thing, let's buy some"
Do not underestimate the power of controversial advertising. You have to stand out to make a statement under all the noise that are out there.

I agree that this most likely is the intention for the ad. To actually make people think that they're missing out on something so they buy/invest in it. But they could've chosen a different approach in my opinion, rather than trying to be mock-ish, for a lack of a better word.

But they could've chosen a different approach in my opinion, rather than trying to be mock-ish, for a lack of a better word. The literal definition of "nocoiner" isn't someone who doesn’t own Bitcoin, but one who doesn’t own, but also have a great sense of resentment towards Bitcoin, a few economists and people like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates somewhat does fit the bill. Yeah, if the intention is to mock the ones who don't own any coins, rather than making them curious, the ad does seem to lean more towards the us vs them mentality, IMO. They don't want to use it/invest in it, so? Let them be. And if it's to a take a dig at the literal nocoiners, then it simply comes down to feeding the trolls/skeptics. Yeah, different approach, rather than using the term "nocoiner", something meaningful, along the lines of why Bitcoin, not someone who has no Bitcoin would have been a better utilization of the ad space.

I definitely agree with Vitalik. Bitcoin already has a bad rap due to the "bitcoin is only being used by drug users and criminals" FUD. These companies should be advertising in a good manner. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do about it though, they could advertise however they want. Vitalik's Tweet: I deeply dislike the "nocoiner" insult. No, people who do not hold cryptotokens are not uncool losers. They are people using very reasonable heuristics in not personally participating in an industry that they do not understand and there are many justifiable reasons to be wary of. https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin/status/1002755040354787328

of course they will, rememeber all popularity bitcoin has is because people are tired of the mistakes and unperfection of the banking cartels, plus a slight part because of the tech itself, but mainly the support comes from unsupport from the banks, becausae many people and companies live in constant unsecurity from the banking cartels besides you have this bitcoin is a ramcoin effect, with the other icos and economy increasingly will fight bitcoins popularity and influence.
