Asus unveils an updated version of the ASUS Mining Master motherboard that now supports up to... 20 graphics cards. It is called '' H370 Mining Master''    Roll Eyes Roll Eyes http://edgeup.asus.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/h370-mining-master-statedetection.jpg
It would be impossible to install 20 graphics cards on a single motherboard. However, ASUS has provided an innovative solution to this problem, allowing PCI-E connections via USB cords. As indicated by the name of the motherboard – H370 Mining Master – This new computer map is intended for Crypto-currency miners who are looking for a higher level of performance .

This was posted in the wrong forum but it is certainly an improvement for the GPU mining community since they are now building in those PCI-E to USB connectors right on to the board.

I'm just not too sure about having 20 GPU's running on one motherboard though.... The most I have running is 12 per mobo currently.

I felt the same, besides stability and complexity issue, that must be a bit hard to position all of 20 GPU on one rig that connected to one board except using long enough USB cable (but sometimes that will cause an issue)

I was all excited about this until I saw "need mining card".

It's almost impossible to acquire any mining cards w/o spending an arm and a leg for it...

"Mining mode is enabled by default, so you're ready to go straight out of the box, without having to mess around in the firmware interface"
I think this is a sophisticated technology aimed at miners and of course this is good news for miners.

Is this still max 13 video cards and the other 7 miner cards (with no video out) due to 16 Hi IO (PCI) lanes from CPU?

It appears so since the link tested with 12+8 (Video+Miner).

This was good before we had riserless rigs, now riserless is the standard.  This is probably a day late and a dollar short.

Anyone know if this 20-GPU motherboard still requires mining edition GPUs like the older ASUS B250 mining expert?

If they somehow got over the requirement to have mining edition GPUs then this would still be a solid BUY from ASUS. With all the threats to GPU mining, efficiency is now the key and having dense GPU rigs is one way to save on power consumption and hardware costs.

How do you achieve riserless rigs?

There are custom made mobos like the octo one.

it's not surprising, many other vendors are already making like that, just different in the number of PCI-e but its principle is same such as Asrock H110 or can use Extensions to install more GPU on Motherboard.
