I would love to be added to the free mining, curious to see how much of a difference it will be to my main worker here.

Just not 100% on what info you need.  Sorry, still trying to learn this, all I've used so far is bitminter. It's all I know how to use at this point, LOL!

Any helpful info is appreciated.

Your worker can be anything you want

Most pools use . or _ then a name for the worker and the password is usually x

so for example if your username on CEX was Potato you could use anything after that for example Potato.1 with a password of x

ie

-o (output) http://us1.cex.io:3333 (pool address and port) -u Potato.1 (Worker Name) -p x (Worker Password)

For Bitminter instead of . it uses _

so the only difference in syntax is it would be Potato_1 instead of Potato.1

I'm so confused. LOL!

I don't see how my worker has a password here. I just created another worker and it didn't ask me to make a password.

Not sure if I figured this out or not, here goes: stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333 -u IamCANADIAN013_Worker3 -p x

Does that look right?

On Bitminter when you are logged in go to

My Account > Workers

And tell me what your Worker Username and Password is or make one

Anyone can mine on that worker for you

It's completely safe to share  Cheesy

Worker username is Worker3, it never asks me for a password.

I'm just going off of this:

Other clients: bfgminer, cgminer, etc. Connect to the pool at stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333 (Stratum) or http://mint.bitminter.com:8332 (GBT or getwork). As user name put your Bitminter user name, an underscore, then a worker name, e.g. DrHaribo_asic3. In case you have firewall issues, port 443 and 5050 (Stratum) and 80 (GBT/getwork) are also available. Any password is accepted.

So I'm assuming I don't need a password. Im sure 1234 will work

So I guess it should be this?

stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333 -u IamCANADIAN013_Worker3 -p 1234

I always thought mining with my graphics card was slow

For SHA256d coins it's actually terrible now that ASiCs are out

But...

For SCRYPT coins (ie Litecoin / Feathercoin / ETC) GPUs are still the best bet
