Does Google wallet had any advantages over Paypal?

Just wondering if Google wallet had any advantages over Paypal.
I Thought I heard something about how Google wallet had chargeback protection.

here’s a brief explanation of how you can transfer funds over Gmail:

You’ll need to have either a bank account, or a credit or debit card linked to your Google Wallet.
Start composing a new mail to the person you’d like to send the cash to.
Hover your mouse over the attachment symbol in the compose window and click on the small ‘$’ sign that lets you ‘attach’ money
Enter the amount you’d like to send.
Send the mail – the recipient will get a message from Google Wallet with instructions on how to claim the money. Also, the recipient doesn't need to have a Gmail account to receive the cash.

I'd have to go with the rest of the posts I've read and say paypal is a better option mainly because it is used on a wide spread basis and it has beeen tried and tested which seems a safer option.
